Used 2017 Toyota Prius v Consumer Reviews
My third perfect Prius
I had graduated from the smaller Prius to the Prius V and absolutely loved my five year old car. Unfortunately, we flooded in Hurricane Harvey and my car was totaled. I was devastated and only wanted to replace it with another Prius V. I got the Prius V 5 and feel like I've come home, which is very comforting since I can't really go home as my home was also flooded. I absolutely love this car!

Buy a hybrid
It was more expensive than my last Prius V, but there were only two choices. My sister escaped serious injury when she had a wreck in our 2014 Prius V, but we had such an excellent experience owning our 2014 that we went for another Prius V. The insurance adjuster said my sister was lucky the Toyota Prius V was such a well made car and noted for safety. We are very happy with our new one, even if it is fully loaded

in 3 months went to fix 2 times, don't start, the towing guy show me receipts for 7 prius daily, very bad sign, never go to west kendall toyota, very bad customer service, got my new plate after 7 days the temporary expire, fast service department but don't know what happen with my prius v 4,they only have 1 master technician for prius to resolve starting problems and reset software and he is on vacations, keep driving but scare about reliability, good on gas, smooth ride but paying $37.560 for a prius???? its ridiculous, same price that any lexus,no government incentives, just for all electric cars or plug-in,after my last visit now my car don't recognize the key, need to press to open doors and use the key just in front of the start bottom to start the car, even doing that, some times don't start,is amazing, don't recommend to buy a prius, price to high,if you use your car for daily commute you will get your money back on saving gas in 10 years, time to change the car,I driving with Uber and Lyft and only one thing is great ""45 mpg" combined, that's it. still very angry with west Kendall Toyota, horrible customer service,I already trade in my Prius for a Honda pilot,I waited for a GAP,Service contract and Tire hazard cancellation refund for more than 6 month, never go with that dealer again. the Prius V was always broke,my opinion is the same, best thing is 45 mpg, that's it,to much electronic and computers failing. the resale value is horrible, still having 12,000 dollars upside down, the unique toyota that loose value daily. years after I had my prius v 5,my opinion still the same about dealer customer service but the quality of prius v is better now,the future is electric cars but the mile range is to low if you drive uber or lyft,so the hybrid cars will be the best option for ever.

Step Down from 2007 Prius
Loved my first Prius, a 2007 (I think a level 3 option package - no nav, single CD, etc). The interior package of my 2017 V (level 4) seems to have been designed by first year interns. The power outlets went from 3 easily accessible from the front seat to two; one of which is in the back of the cargo area and not accessible at all by any normal human while riding in the vehicle. The tonneau cover is a bit oddly placed so that one needs to attach a flap to the back seats if it is to cover the whole area; problem is that the attachment only works if those seats are in a slightly reclined position. The straps are solid; guess they hadn't heard of elastic. The miles per gallon on the standard odometer setting is bizzare; constantly going up and down and in no apparent logical way. The readings on the trip meter work fine but the main odometer reading is useless. Oh, and the ability to display KPH has been standard equipment on most vehicles since the 70s; guess it's no longer needed because IT SIMPLY ISN'T THERE, although it's discussed in the manual and there is a place for the toggle switch. What, you have to go to the highest trim package for that? Or is it some other special option? No one goes to Canada? And, apparently, it can't be fixed!! What a miserable (non-) feature!!! The navigation system is just OK. My 10 year Garmin was better. This one thinks I'm off road, I guess, unless I'm zoomed in so far it only shows the next 1/4 mile of map. Not exactly handy. (Though I really like the display on the speedometer that tells me what street I'm on.) It also doesn't display the options I've asked for, like speed limit, unless I only have the map displayed (and sometimes not then), and of course, there's no option to have that as the primary display; you have to have something else displayed also as the default. Several other odd "design features" as well. None are complete deal breakers but very disappointing. (Oh, and what's with that backup signal? Not new but NO ONE else has it apparently since everyone who has ridden in my Priuses (just what is the plural?) has ever encountered such a signal that can be heard ONLY inside the vehicle.) Radio is Sirius but that service is of NO use to me, offering only a couple of stations I'd listen to, but I have local ones for those genres. Reception quality is the worst I've had in a radio for at least 28 years (since I've lived in current location). Never had static before, now have it all the time in my location. Despite all the design flaws (and they are very, very irritating), it is still a Prius; it gets great mileage and performs adequately; e.g., I have no trouble accelerating to merge into traffic.

Ridiculous Pricing
I really wanted a sunroof. To get one you had to buy the 5 with the advanced tech package putting the price in a range I found ridiculous. Thus I am still shopping. I do wish Toyota would make it easier to select the options you want because I did like the test drive and in many ways the Prius V would be a good car for me.
