great car except for paint job
Hi I have a corolla le 2009. Its a great car no problems mechanically. The paint job on the front hood has about 12 black spots on it they are very tiny but noticeable. Toyota claims they are rocks or stones from the road and no warranty coverage. Does anyone else have this problem? Still a reliable car.
Not bad, but could be much better!
While the Corolla is a decent car, it does not stand out in any way and needs lot of improvement. Redesign the interior, move the clock to the radio area (add date/day of week); improve steering feel; illuminated controls for door locks & mirrors; 8 way power drivers seat w/lumbar support; radio backlighting should be blue to match other controls; make the LCD bigger and higher resolution so it contains more info at a time (see Elantra). Every cheap gadget these days has high-res LCDs with a wealth of information! And get rid of the pixelated fonts; fog lamps on XLE. Heated outside mirrors standard on the XLE (Elantra offer them standard on all models); no intrusive hinges on trunk.

It gets the job done!
My wife totaled our 2006 Corolla LE. Decided we wanted another Corolla but with a little sport. So we purchased the S Model. Car looks sleek and aggressive. I agree with some posters that the paint needs to be more durable. Like maybe 3 or 4 layers. Gas mileage is incredible and you have to love spending about $30 dollars to fill up the tank. I wish though the seats can be adjusted in more different ways and the steering feels at times a little artificial. Other than that, I'd buy another Corolla.
Perfect Car
Traded in a 2005 Kia Optima V6 for the all new Corolla. Best decision I ever made. The Corolla S looks very sporty in and out. Fit and finish is perfect unlike the Optima. And Toyota quality/reliability speaks for itself. This car feels just as roomy and is way more comfortable than the Optima. This car is very fun to drive. I would recommend this car to anyone who wants a quality built sporty small sedan with great gas mileage.
2009 Toyota Corolla S
This is my second toyota corolla and i have alway loved toyota and could not see myself buying anything else. Well this car has changed that opinion and my next car will not be a toyota. This 2009 has had the whole A/C replaces, cam shaft gear, starter and the car still has problems starting. My corolla only had 56,000 miles. Total cost of repairs under warranty is over $9,000Â . beware of the 2009 year.
