This car is only of the most reliable cars out there on the market. #1 Toyota! There is a reason used cars are still expensive. I’ve had mine for 3 years. I’ve driving it from MN to FL with no problems. I recommend always putting full synthetic in your car. It’s like your own human blood! It makes the car last super long. Despite what people say, I have never changed the transmission fluid. I have have the car from 130k miles to 200k miles and I haven’t had to replace one thing on it. The only thing I have had to do is fix the heat shields over the transmission and the gas tank. 10/10 for sure. The only problem though is that the steering wheel is somewhat centered to your right leg. People over 6 ft I WOULD NOT recommend this car for. I’m 6’1 and this car after awhile has just gotten small for my legs. Other than that, just look at the road when you’re driving around. For a car 10+ years old, you will find one of these cars ALWAYS.

2009 LE. bought new with 4 miles in Nov. ‘08 and here we are Sept. ‘22 and still runs like new, doesn’t burn a drop of oil, no leaks and only regular routine maintenance. of course the paint is faded completely and a few miscellaneous parts such as water pumps, alternators, and suspension but nothing major. she’s still a daily driver, and still gets 30+mpg running an average of 70mph 50 miles a day.😌 no complaints on my end!!

Driving like a champ at 173,000 miles!

After moving to the US I had no credit so I needed to buy a car for cash. I was looking for something around $5,000 and it was either newer subcompact Nissans and Chevys or this 2009 Corolla with almost 160,000 miles on it. I was hesitant but decided to risk it and it was worth it! In my nearly two years of ownership, I only had problem with coils, tire pressure system batteries went out, and I needed to replace the car battery. Altogether cheap fixes. I took the car to Oregon, Utah, Nevada and Arizona (I live in San Francisco). These things can easily go 300,000 miles it seems. Gas mileage is average in the city (around 24-25 mpg, though the SF hills and traffic definitely have a role in it!) but absolutely crushing it on the highway, easily getting 36 mpg. I also like the design quite a bit. Toyota usually makes super weird or ugly interiors, the one here is maybe a bit boring but elegant (and despite the mileage, all the materials look brand new). Would highly recommend this car!

I love this car. It's been great, dependable, reliable all its days. **UPDATE: If I still had my little 2009, I'd say the same thing. I loved that car so much that when a texting driver rear ended it and totaled it out last year, I cried for days. I cried even more when we replaced it with a 2012 Toyota Corolla that we later realized had not been taken care of properly and is a total piece of junk. All that to say, a Toyota Corolla is an excellent, dependable car--if you take care of it. If I had the money, I'd buy another one new so I knew the kind of care it had received. I would trust it. Now, it is not a family car--the back seat is tiny and does not accommodate rear facing car seats very well without the person in the front seat being very uncomfortable (and my current car seat is so ginormous it wouldn't even fit), but for 1-2 adults, even with preschoolers through middle school kids, this car would be fine. Miss the gas mileage it had!

I have 72k miles on my car and it has not given me any problems so far. Absolutely love this car and will be keeping it for awhile. Lacks on power on highway when passing but I usually put the car in 3rd gear and haul tail. I travel alot and have noticed my car gets around 40-45 mpg highway, thats when i add fuel cleaner and gas treatment. I also put a k&n air filter in it as well and it has improved on performance and gas mileage. I had a 1999 camry and totaled it, had around 145k miles on it and it was also a good vehicle as well. Will definately buy a new corolla when i want a new car.
