09 Vue XR 6cyl Transmission
In Sept I purchased a (1) owner ,90,000 mile 09 VUE from a 70+ yr old lady who kept it in great condition. Right after purchasing I paid big bucks to have the 90,000 maintenance check up done right after buying. 5,000 miles later (95,000 miles) with no warning it's in for a $4,000 transmission rebuild. Warranty is 5yrs or 100,000 miles whichever comes first.Sucks!

Beats Honda CR-V
Although I'm a confirmed Honda guy, I decided to test drive the 2009 Saturn Vue XR -- what a surprise! This car looks great and drives even better. It's solid as a rock with better steering response that the three BMWs I've owned. I needed a car that is flat towable behind our motor home, so I compared Honda CR-V, Ford Escape, and the Saturn Vue. The Vue won out and I've been very pleased with it so far.

I love this SUV!!
I researched and evaluated lots of different vehicles before settling on the VUE. I was deciding in between a pre-owned Lexus or Mercedes when I saw a Red Line VUE drive close to my home. I couldn't believe it was a Saturn! It had the looks of an European vehicle. I went the next day and test drove a VUE and was hooked. Put this vehicle on the list! Plus with O% APR for 60 months-- an easy choice.
VERY good value...
I purchased a 2009 Vue with 90,000 miles, super clean car, new tires, battery well serviced but it required a transmission which as I did my research is quite common for this milage. Because it needed a transmission this clean car with a fully rebuilt transmission represents excellent value and about a 50% discount to retail in my market. I plan on doing very occasional towing after fitting it with a trailer hitch and using it as a winter car for general transportation (to keep my classic luxury cars off the road in the winter months)... so here we are almost through the first winter... the car has been nearly flawless.. I needed a new receiver for the door lock remote controls... Love the way it works and drives...excellent quality and it feels like a brand new car. Two years after writing my original review not much has changed.. No mechanical repairs, strictly service - I updated the head lights to LED... I don't drive a great deal but the car has proven to be very reliable... and I LIKE reliable.. I use it for occasional towing - utility trailer, boats for short distances... All systems are functional and the car is still great value.. So here we are yet another two years since my last update...and again not ONE mechanical repair, only service the VUE being perfectly reliable.. At this rate considering what it cost me this vehicle does not owe me the time of day and it works perfectly well for my needs.. I can still sell this vehicle for MORE than it cost me to buy and put on the road... Now three yeas later, the car is perfect.. change the oil and not much else needed... This has. been an excellent car to own...

Just Okay for Me
I traded in my Chevy Tahoe for a Saturn Vue. I wanted something smaller and more economical which I got. Overall, I am satisfied with the vehicle but have some complaints. The windows and/or sun roof cannot be opened without dealing with an excrutiating & painful vacuum feeling on your head and ears. Feels like you are going to be sucked right out of the car. Steerling wheel needs to be tilted down further. Seats are very uncomfortable. Seats and carpets stain very easily. Dust & dirt accumulate quickly on dash and in cup holders. No passenger unlock button for doors. Cup holders in an awkward position.
