Awesome, but bull rider training wheels are out!

2026 Honda HR-V Sport 4dr SUV AWD (2.0L 4cyl CVT)
I bought the 2026 HRV Sport about 2 weeks ago. Went over a bumpy section of road..its a good thing I had my seat belt on, as the car rode so rough I would have bounced out. But, I found the problem and solved it with the dealers help. Its those teenager 18 inch wheels, with almost no rubber underneath you. Riding rough and noisey is an understatement. Fortunately the dealer allowed … me to trade "tires and wheels" for the 17inch smooth riding, and quiet Michelin Primacy AS, which did the trick. It was ok, for the dealer because those teenage wheels were perfect for a customer who was moto cross training, and loved the bouncing around like a basketball. He wanted those black wheels which look cool, I wanted quiet and comfort, so we both got what we wanted.
The best thing about this car is price. I paid about 28,600 OTD, including a rebate and many dealer discounts. I had no idea a new car that cheap would be this nice. MSRP was 30,950. If this were a Toyota, It would be 3000 above MSRP, plus I would have to buy an allocation in Toyota's favorite colors, left over equipment I dont want, and, of course the time Toyota wants to build it and at Toyotas price, plus doc fees, dealer fees, mandatory profit protection programs of no use to consumers then face Toyota's irritating, glitchy subscription plans designed to drain my wallet and offer a remote start, which was included for free with my HRV Sport, with no subscription fees.
Both the Mazda Cx 30 and Subaru Crosstek were also considered. I did not like CX30 resale value, I want to drive a car because I like it, not because I have to wait 4 more years to trade it or write a check for 8 grand to unload it. Honda wins this hands down. Check KBB. Now onto the Crosstek. Thats a good car, but its better at off road, and I outgrew that about 40 years ago or so.
I love the tech. Adaptive cruise, and BSM (blind spot monitor) are flawless. I also love heated seats in a under 30k new car with great resale value. The backup camera has a great view, crisp and clean. But I think what I like most is it "just works". Its not complicated, I dont have to worry about a turbo cooking my oil and dying from heat exhaustion at 60k miles. Turbos mostly dont last as long as non turbo. Oh, and I love there is no start-stop irritation.
I dont have to try to figure out how to avoid Toyota's "need for cash" with several subscription plans who are irritatingly advertised on my phone each time I start my Toyota. Never again, Toyota. THis honda smoked you bad.
Jump in and drive your HRV. Dont even think about buying a overpriced Toyota allocation. Jump in your HRV and off you go. Its even easy to figure it all out. You will love it.
