We picked this car up in Germany in Oct,2005, fresh off the 2006 production line. I highly recommend their white-glove international delivery. We tooled around on the autobahn at speeds of 120- 130mph with little effort. I only recently went on a road trip of any length in the U.S.; 2000 miles to NY and back to Atlanta. What a dream on the road! Surprizingly, room for 2 suitcases,a computer tower, various coolers and tote bags without having to put the top up! Mileage ran at 30mpg @ 70-80 cruising speed. Because this is a performance car, the ride is stiff, but not intolerable for long trips. The adjustability of the driver seat makes finding a comfortable setting easy. Navi system is adequate.

This car has been great. No mechanical problems. Lots of power, even with 4 adult males. I bought the car new and it is still stylish. Granted, I have to move the drivers seat a little forward with people in the back, but not uncomfortable. It's virtually the only comvertable that you can actually get 4 people in. A convertable in California is a must. The best way to show guests our state. GREAT CAR

After ten years starting to get aches and pains - with Mercedes = $ - and roof is having trouble. Estimated cost there? $6,500! Might just have a soft top coupe. Only real problems were covered by warranty earlier on. Now just don't want to let her go. Still the coolest nighttime instrument panel I've ever seen and love it every time I start the car.

This is a most beautifully designed car, and driving feels like floating on clouds. Enjoy the sound of the engine when starting the car. It is luxury at its best. Trunk space is small just enough for 2 small suitcases. Don't plan on doing major grocery shopping with this car. It is a great car but not practical in everyday life i.e. if you are on the road, in sales or real estate and need to transport kids/people. You need an "everyday" practical second car if you own a CLK. Save it for going out or somewhere special. It is so fast that you don't realize how fast you go. Total, absolute luxury. It will spoil you forever.

I have owned 19 cars, five of which were Benz. My favorites were the 1965 250S and the current CLK 350. It's a dream on the interstate but it is equally a pleasure to cruise the beach. My only complaints are that the trunk is a bit on the cozy side, especially with the top down, and the navigation system is CD driven. However, the navigation system is very good and I would never buy another car without the factory installed system. Gas mileage is outstanding. On the interstate I get 28 regularly (at 80+ mph), although city driving is considerably less. Although the model styling is a few years old I still get many wonderful comments and thumbs up from drivers on the road.

I have been a master Mercedes-Benz technician for 38 years. I have my own shop & know where every problem MB has. This is the best built, fun to drive, head turning, MB I have seen since the '71 280SE cabro. It is the Designo version & the leather/paint combo is a joy to look at. I know all of the complaints about MB, & if anyone should be mad at them it's me. But this is a car they can truly be proud of. There is no way Lexus, BMW, or the others can match the beauty & Soul this car has. Mercedes...keep up the good work!

Well, OK, since I could not swing the 1970 280 SL of my dreams, since it would be very impractical in South Florida, I opted for the '06 Mercedes CLK-350 coupe. Oh yes, it's a sweet ride, and I jump out of bed every morning and look forward to the pleasure of driving this little jewel to work. I chose black with an ivory interior. My last CLK was a 320 and it was in a gorgeous pewter color, but I did have some electrical probs with it. So far this '06 CLK350 has been a dream. It is a work of art, and when you get behind the wheel you feel like you've arrived with all the leather, polished burlwood, and the slightly retro design of the dash and fittings. Yes, it's my baby.

Purchased first as lease when new. Bought out the lease. Just love this car. Great power for a V6 and average 32mpg on the highway. Never have had any issues whatsoever. Great customer service during regular scheduled maintenance. Even got a loaner car every time! So much fun to drive and going topless is pure joy. I will definitely buy another MB.

It has a great ride, plenty of zip, great lines and sheer pleasure to drive. Have not had one major issue in 11 years. The only negative is the gas mileage for around town driving......only get about 14mpg due to the 5.0 V8 engine. On the highway, about 20mpg. But I still love driving this car.....My husband has been nagging me for 2 years to get a new car with latest technology. Only thing I really wanted was an updated navigation and bluetooth. Had 44,000 miles. A grandma car....Traded in August, 2017 for 2018 E Series......I WANT MY OLD CAR BACK!!!!

Turned in my Lexus GS300 March '06. I started shopping in feb for new car to lease. Lexus gave me high priced lease prices and this would have been my 3rd GS. So went to Mercedes and leased 2006 CLK350. Obsidian black-light tan inside. Have Sirius, lighting package, prem package, heated seats and navigation. Love the car. No problems except had to wait 1 month for Sirius. And the car cost me less than the Lexus. The car turns heads. Love driving the car, Much better than the 2003 GS300. The best time of day is driving to and from work.

Car provides a good ride. The interior is comfortable but was not told that when it rains water get inside the car because there is no run-off or drainage system. After each rain, I must take a cloth and wipe the running board and the area under the doors and the sides, inside the car. $50K is a lot of money to spend for one to have to wipe the water out of the inside of the car each time it rains. When questioned was told "it is a design flaw" caused by the way the windows open and then close to seal for air tightness. Didn't they know about the "flaw"?

Since Mercedes doesn't hold value like the Beamer I had before, I was able to get a great deal on a low mileage '06 in CT. The car is mint with Nav, black on black, etc etc. I am only in my 3rd week and I love it. Our other car is a Lexus ES350 which is a safe bet boring sedan and I convinced my wifey to get this 'for her.' Let's just that it is not a 335 twin turbo but has enough power under the hood and looks better than comparable cars, way better. It drives well enough and I have been inventing excuses just to take it on the road. So far, I don't have any annoying rattles or anything. Best looking I owned.

This is my first Mercedes and I love it! I've owned 3 Lexus models and a BMW but have never enjoyed a car as much. How much do I love this car? I never had one single problem with any of my previous Lexus cars and I've had 10 things replaced or fixed on this CLK... and I still wouldn't switch back. (Nothing related to the drivetrain and all covered under warranty of course... hope you like your service department!) The car looks best with the windows down... no B pillar- sexy!

With a child in college, I'd planned to drive my '97 Lexus ES300 until it died. Sure, it was a bit long in the tooth, but it worked just fine. Until it died. Suddenly. Irrevocably. In my neck of the woods, Lexus rules; Beemers are well-represented, too. I was loyal to Lexus, but in my heart of hearts, I wanted an MBz. A good friend and private dealer found my new baby. At first sight, it was so beautiful, I was afraid to drive it. It was too fancy, too ostentatious, too TOO. Took about a week to get over it. I am in love. Smitten. Besotted to the point of purchasing a custom cover to minimize sun damage (blk ext, no tinted windows, hot sun, all that leather). Co-workers tease, but that's OK!

Bought the car new 20 months ago. Absolutely love it, but I only have 9,000 miles on it. Did this coming off of 18 years of Toyota ownership. Have replaced the amplifier on the premium sound system and a malfunctioning key fob under warranty. Don't know if this is standard operating procedure for pricy German cars. Not a sports car as much as it is a muscle car with 21st century refinement. Bought it after deciding I was too old and too fat to climb in and out of a 911 Cabriolet at the Porsche dealership. Went to the MB dealership expecting to buy an SL. Test drove both CLK 500 and an SL 500. Decided to get a back seat and pay $30,000 less than what the SL would have cost.

Chose CLK Cabrio over BMW Convertable and am truly pleased with the choice. Great looking and driving. Gas mileage is exceptional; you really can get 27- 28 mpg on the highway. Great top down ride at 65-70 mph w/no wind problems at all. We can talk and be heard and the excellent radio sound carries well. This is perfect car for a couple and unlike the roadsters, there is ample room for a reasonable amount of baggage, even with the top down as the rear seats serve well for cargo and even our 2 small dogs on occassion. We selected a black over white color combo' and just love it. We constantly get compliments and this one stands out over the usual silver bodies we see too much of.

I purchased my CLK 350 one year ago and waited until now to see how it performed this past year, and it was great best car I have ever owned, and I have owned over 15 in the last 30 years. The ride is better than our Infiniti I35 much more quiet than the Lexes and BMW that I test drove. Everyone who rides along says this is a quiet car with lots of power. The interior fit and finish is great, the transmission shifts smoothly and the stability control are great. The ipod intergreation is what everyone should get. MB is the best every made.

What more could you want? It's so beautiful that it draws a crowd in parking lots. It's as quiet and comfortable as a sedan with the roof closed. The interior is gorgeous. The new cup holders remove all complaints of the old ones. The performance is more than adequate. While I would have liked some of the added features of the CLK500, I don't feel its additional power is worth the price difference, or is needed. And the AMG version? Why?

The new 7 speed transmission is interesting. It improves fuel economy with no performance loss, but you do have to get used to things like double gear drop downs and the fact that the car runs at about 2000 rpm vice 3000 at typical freeway speed. The new electronics suite is greatly improved over 2004, but the harmon/kardon audio isn't quite as good at the surround processing as the Bose system in the 2004 or as loud. the iPod option works really well--way better than the 3rd party junk that's out ther.

I think the car is satisfying overall. It is a well rounded machine, although those expecting a sports car may be a bit dissapointed. I had a 911 cab prior so that may not be a fair statement. It is smooth, quiet and powerful, although I understand they are putting the new v8 found in the 2007 S class thoughout the line to replace the current 5.0 ltr motor. That will be a real lift in power. (some 80 or so horses.) Kind of wish I would have waited for the 2007. I put 18 inch BBS wheels on mine and it handles better w/o much loss in ride. They look better too. I may put on cross drilled rotors(for looks and performance)w/perf. pads(to lessen dust), and maybe sway bars to help prevent leaning.

I purchased by CLK 500 in August after two years of research and test driving other cars and I must say I have never experienced anything like driving my CLK 500. The stares I get from other drivers (especially from BMW owners). Every time I drive the car I get challeged to race and it is usually from the BMW owners. That is a sign that this is an exceptional car. As for the driving experience it is truly orgasmic. The seats hugs you and the ride is so smooth. I love the accelaration when entering the freeway. I get nothing but compliments on this car and am truly happy I decided to purchase it.

I've had the car for 5 months now and couldn't be more pleased. The car handles exactly like you would expect and has outstanding performance. I have the 500 convertible and it doesn't accelerate, it leaps forward. I can imagine how the '07 550 accelerates. I compared it to the Audi S4 and the BMW 6 convertibles. The only thing the Audi had on it was all wheel drive - but it came with a higher monthly lease cost. The BMW wasn't as attractive and the back seat was not worth having. The back seat on the Benz while not expansive can and has held 2 full size adults confortably. The convertible top works great although it could be a little faster and less sensitive to items in the trunk.

Bought a beautiful 2006 Cabriolet Convertible with a little over 65,000 miles in 2010. Had car checked out at local Mercedes-Benz dealership shop to make sure I was purchasing a great car. Car had only one owner, was a local trade-in, and was all M-B serviced sinced new. Car has great styling, beautiful design and color and rode and performed great; until about 72,000 miles. Then the problem and maintenance issues started. The expensive scheduled mainteance items started to come due like brake fluid changes, tranmission services, other engine service items too numerous to list. The reliability issues started with SRS issues, "check engine" lights, "anti-role prevention" issues etc. Seems like every couple of months there was something wrong with this car. And every repair or service grew more and more expensive. Some of the repairs took as many as five fixes to finally resolve them. Then at 113,000 miles the engine balance shaft and Intake manifold had to be replaced. That costed $6700. Three weeks later, the alternater when bad. another $800. This car is a piece of "shite". You pay a butt load of money for them and they promise you the best car you're ever drive. What you get is a car that is beautiful, stylish and worthless. This by far is the worst, least reliable, least dependable, most problematic, and overly expensive vehicle I've EVER owned. I had Lexus, Acure, Inifiniti, Chevy, and Toyotas that have gien hardly any trouble at all, and all except the Lexus were drive well over 200,000 miles with little more than scheduled and routine maintenance. This "Pisa-Shite" CLK-350 has costed me more in repairs since I've had it than all of the other cars I've owned combined. The car has 114,000 miles on it now, and I don't trust it to the grocery store anymore. And they depreciate like no other. What a piece of JUNK. Thank you Mercedes. I now know I'll NEVER EVER own another one.

Over the last 1,000 miles I have averaged 27mpg. Mine is black on black and turns heads all the time. Came with the iPod so no longer need CDs. I traded in an '04 S500 and I like the CLK better.

Had a '98 SL500 and went to this Black top over Alabaster White CLK350C with no regrets. 6 Cyl. is superb, no need for V8, which is a big concession for me. Agree with all other reviewers on positives. While in dash cup holder works, center console cup holder with tall cup is in the way of arm when using shifter. 7 speed tranny is fantastic and performs beautifully and not with low speed "clunks" like my '06 ML 500 w/all wheel drive.

This car feels strong & sturdy on the road, but not heavy (like the Volvo I test drove that wouldn't pick up speed). I love the space afforded in this coupe (coming from the teeny lexusSC430). Plenty of headroom & legroom, and both the driver & passenger seats can be adjusted from the seat "tuners" on the doors (including the height of the headrest). The Sirius satelite radio is nice, I liked the option of listening to the BBC news or the Discovery channel from our car. Some people have commented on there only being 1 cupholder, but there are two. One is right next to the gear shift, and the other one is located inside the arm rest (easy to get to by scrolling back the armrest).

I previously owned an SLK 320, but wanted more room and luxury without sacrificing fun and performance. This car is the perfect answer. The only trip to the dealer so far was to remedy an electrical connector on the transmission and replace the CD player. Pleasantly surprised at delivery to find the newer console with two additional cup holders. Comfortable seats, and interior fit and finish is first rate. With the roof up there is good visibility, and it is surprisingly quiet. Absolutely fun to drive and easy on the eyes. This one is a keeper.

This is undoubtedly the best convertible in the world! It's sporty, it's fun, and it's so comfortable! It has a lot of power, and we just love our sleek, new black Mercedes Benz CLK 55 AMG!

This is my first Mercedes. Everything is great except for a few things. The seat back contours are designed/built for very skinny people. Even a Mitsubishi I had with wrap around seat backs, were adjustable. The dial temp controls aren't very accurately adjustable (the 2002 Avalon I have are digitally adjustable with rocker up/down 1 degree increments). Ride & handling are superb for a convertible. Body is rigid with almost no twist on tight turns. Engines today should not require premium gas. The menu system is not very user friendly. And I just found out that the Nav. system is only updated every 5 years. Good thing I have portable Garmin units (which are easier to program).

I just got the CLK500 Conv. Let me telling you something, what a car. We wanted to get the CLK350 Conv, but the dealer did not have it. We got the DVD, Premium Package. They had the 500 in stock, and were more flexible in selling this one. I got it for $1.00 over invoice. The car is for my wife, and she is so in love with it. She was a previous BMW driver, and we still have her Car. I own a 99 CLK320, and it is still running great for me. It has 171,000 miles on it...

Caveat Emptor

I purchased my CLK coupe in April of '06 and have regretted it every single day since. It looked beautiful at the dealership with it's full Brabus tuning and appearance package. But as they say about Monet's paintings; it was good from afar and far from good. The litany of problems with this car ranges from a new transmission at 20,000 miles to multiple broken window motors. And I don't even want to get started on the apocalyptic depreciation. In exactly 2 years of ownership, it is worth less than half of what I bought it for. It is such a terrible feeling to get into a car everyday and wonder what will go wrong with it next. So please take note and do not buy this car.

So far it has been in service more than on the road . If you purchase this vehicle, be prepared for tears in the roof liner around the rear window. Also be prepared for a rough idle no matter what they do. Bad gas mileage . Overall fair build quality

This is my 3rd Mercedes ('98 C230, '02 C320) and the best car I've ever owned, besting 4 BMW's, a SAAB and a Volvo. It is extremely comfortable, especially with the Comfort Package seats. Controls, while still over-engineered, are easier to use than the '02 C320. Handling is great, and performance is just fine. $7,000 for the V-8 is a waste of money.

My second CLK Cabrio, traded a (trouble free) 2003. This car is a vast improvement over the already great former version. Beautiful to look at and fun to drive. Many great comfort features and trouble free at 2000 miles. Drove the 500, not worth the extra money, maybe the 550 will be better. iPod kit is awesome! MB has become more "Lexus-like" to compete, but the car is very refined. A little less plastic would be nice.

Electrical problem at 1500 miles which is disturbing in view of Mercedes history of electrical problems. Otherwise good driving. Somewhat lower fuel economy than on sticker.

This is my 5th Benz and is beyond all expectations. (I drove my last one 250,000 miles so this one is several generations advanced). It handles like it is on rails and when I need the acceleration it is more than ample. The navigation system is the best and most intuitive that I have seen and wouldn't be without that accessory. And anyone who complains about cup holders shouldn't be driving a Benz. I prefer that it didn't have cup holders because I don't indulge the distraction of coffee, etc. while driving and I prefer that my passengers refrain from spilling latte on the interior.

Tires and Transmission

Fun to drive, but lossing its appeal. Nothing but tire problems and now transmission problems. 2 blowouts, one bubble on sidewall, replaced rear tires at 18,0000 miles. Faulty transmission valve and now O rings are going out. This is a very expensive car for all these problems. When the lease is up, we will not get another Mercedes. I am sure there are a lot of great cars, less expensive and more dependable. Perhaps Audi or Volvo. Very disenchanted!

I bought my 06 4 weeks ago, i have since traded up to an Acura TL ( yes, i said up) the TL blows the clk i had out of the water. This was the worst car experience ive ever had. I owned the car two weeks when the transmission went out! I had it towed to mercedes where i had my " manufacturers warranty" For them to tell me to wait a week with NO loaner car! ( said they don't give loaners anymore) For an answer. They were not helpful whatsoever and lacked hugely in their customer service. I was so unhappy with the car i traded for a real one... Acura Tl.All the things wrong- the windows were rattling and loose, failed transmission , rear foglamp out, side turn signal light broken, allot
