Best 3 row PHEV in its class!
Coming from an XC90 PHEV, the TX550h+ sacrifices a miniscule amount of horsepower for an engine that doesn't break a sweat delivering a very similar fast acceleration. Smooth and comfortable ride, with no hesitation in power. It wins in leg room and cargo space too - which is the entire reason people buying 3 row SUVs are shopping for them. Plus the ventilated captains chairs in the back means no teens fighting over who gets to ride in the front. The real world actual gas mileage is about 5-8mpg better than the XC90 too - even when the batteries are depleted, which is interesting since the gas engine is a V6 rather than the turbocharged 4 cylinder the xc90 sports. I cross shopped the XC90, X7, Yukon, CX90, & MDX Type S. The TX was the all around best mix of functionality, comfort, performance, luxury, & anticipated reliability. It's the first model year so there are a couple of things I'd love to see come in the future - where's the panoramic sunroof??? and the interior ambient lighting is a bit weak for my taste. The biggest question I have though is on the actual gas tank size - it seems smaller than the specs state and the range the car estimates after a fill up is about 360mi, not the 450 claimed in the article. I've only driven about 300 miles in it so far, so I'll be following up with Lexus if that doesn't improve over the next few weeks. 360 isn't terrible, it's just significantly less than the over 400 claimed here.

Blew everything else away
I literally looked at every 3 row SUV on the market... (minus Hyundai and Kia) Acura, BMW, Honda, Mazda, Mercedes, Toyota, VW and Volvo and hands down the TX was the best value and felt the most put together and the best value for the money. Its not sports car, but I wasn't expecting one. This is now my 7th Lexus and have never had a single issue with any so expecting a smoothe lease!

Big luxury car with a less than adequate engine
The Lexus TX SUV is a Lexus mistake. Putting a 4 cylinder “turbo” engine in a big SUV like the TX was foolish and a bad decision on Lexus’ part. The TX with the hybrid version is much smoother and more powerful. However, the price tag $80k+ is a bit overpriced for that vehicle. You can get basically the same thing in the Toyota Grand Highlander for 20K less. It’s basically the same car; you’re just paying 20k more for the name “Lexus” on your vehicle. Not worth the extra money. The TX is a Lexus failure.

Noise when turning left or right
I got a tx 2024 back in octuber last year was one of the first in mg city to have one! Months later the car started making a weird noise when turning left or right, took it to the delar and has been sitting there for 30 days now! They can't fix the issue, i had to used the lemon law so they can repurchase the car! Let see how it goes! Do yourself a favor and stay out of tx or lexus at all!

Great Vehicle
Was originally shopping for a 2024 Grand Highlander in San Antonio, but decided to test drive a Lexus TX just to compare the two. The Lexus TX AWD is definitely an outstanding machine and has many more amenities. I keep my vehicles for over 12 years and know I will be holding on to this one for a while.
