$100,000 Let Down
I have had this car since mid 2017 and in that time I have put 100,000 miles on it. Within that time, the lack of attention to detail has shown greatly. While the engine is incredibly smooth and the ride quality is great, the infotainment and poor interior quality lets down the car significantly, especially at its price point. There are numerous interior creaks and rattles. Bear in mind, there is nothing in the interior of the car outside of the insurance, registration, and my wallet. It’s not like the interior is particularly nice either - the buttons are all cheap, there is cheap black plastic everywhere, and the headliner is the same material used in a ‘96 Corolla. The leather is really nice, apart from the fact that at around 60k miles the finish just started flaking off. I would not be disappointed if the cars MSRP wasn’t 6 figures. It has the interior of a $45,000 car. Another drawback is how unstable the LX is at highway speeds. Above 70 mph, the steering wheel shakes. It has done this since the beginning of my ownership. 70 mph in an LX feels like 120 mph in a normal, well built car. At least the ride makes up for it. Otherwise, the LX is an incredible car. For the price point, it has no excuses to be as lackluster as it is. Lexus quality has gone downhill and this car is a prime example of such. I would not buy the LX unless you got a really good deal on it or drive a ton and need something that will never die. Pros: - Amazing engine. Though slow, it is incredibly smooth and balanced - Great off-road. I strongly suggest taking your LX on a trail if you have not - Smooth ride. The car is like a cloud, especially on long trips. - Seats. The seats are incredibly ergonomic and the heating/cooling functions are tremendous. - Infotainment. Everyone complains about the mouse but you adapt to it quickly. I do not mind it whatsoever. Cons: - Archaic suspension is not inspiring whatsoever. Vehicle is very unstable at highway speeds. It literally drives like a 25 year old car. - The interior quality is horrendous. Everything is fading quickly, breaking, or just flat out cheap. I have used a plethora of detailing products in attempt to save it and nothing has worked. - Transmission is smooth until 80% throttle input, then the jerks are so significant they cause magnitude 9+ earthquakes. - HVAC system is terrible. Makes the car super stuffy in the winter time.

Lexus LX 570
I purchased this vehicle on July 30, 2013. Nothing but problems. First day tire pressure warning light came. Took it back to the dealer and they repaired it driving home 8 miles later came on again. Took back to dealer and they replaced sensors. On Thursday September 12 car completely shut down very scary moment. Lost all power SCRA light came on, warnings lights, engine lights on. Couldn't restart no power, head lights stayed on locked in park couldn't do anything even lock doors to call Lexus. Lexus service sent out a tow truck and they had to put the car on dollies in order to tow it back to dealer Newport Lexus Sales Manager explained that vehicle is dangerous refused to replace it.
Still the best long-trip car I ever owned.
The LX-570 replaced an Acura MDX and a Lincoln Navigator before that. After 125,000 miles it rides like new. I took the MDX to about 80K and it was a rough ride and sloppy handling. The Navigator, which is very similar in size and ride, had recurring service problems that were never completely fixed. I drove it 60K and dumped it. I have taken the LX from California to Connecticut and back three times. It was like riding in first class on a plane. I expect that I’ll take this car to 200K miles or more. It still looks brand new. And Lexus service sets the high mark without breaking the bank.

Don’t count on Lexus for warranty
We love the car, but it making skreetchy noise and Lexus thinks they know what is causing the noise but they will not repair it. It is an abnoxous sound. The money paid for this car; it should not be making abnoxous sounds. Apparently warranty doesn’t cover engine bay making sqeeeky abnoxous sounds. We should have gotten a Mercedes to receive better service.
