I've never driven a hybrid before, but have owned a lexus before. In my previous 2008 IS250, if you touch the gas, it jumps. Quick off the line. But I also got 20 mpg. You don't buy a CT200h for power. This car eases into speed from a stop. Hence the excellent gas mileage. What no critic that I've read has revealed or maybe didn't notice, is that once you get up to speed, even 30-40 mph, especially in "sport" mode, the car responds and accelerates SURPRISINGLY well. As well as my old 200 hp IS250. If I need to pass a car on the highway, and go from 50 to 65, this car moves well. It feels more like 200hp when you're accelerating at speed. Not to mention the comfort and handling. A+

I loved my CT so much, I purchased it when my lease was up! I've had my ’13 CT for four problem-free years. Lexus was smart to tweak the Prius powertrain and drop it into a sexy, fun-to-drive package -- the perfect combination for those of us who want to minimize our carbon footprint but still have a little fun behind the wheel! It's true the CT's 0-60 time is less than impressive, but it's a compromise I'm willing to make to get 45+MPG in city driving. Even so, it never feels underpowered around town. It has no problem taking on mountain passes or zooming around traffic on the highway (the CVT will rev like crazy under these circumstances but I don't find it overly intrusive). The steering and throttle response are noticeably more athletic in Sport Mode -- the CT really comes to life! The suspension is firm but not uncomfortably so. The 10-speaker premium sound system is a dream. Interior ergonomics are near-perfect. I'm 6-feet tall and for such a small car I have no problem finding a comfortable driving position. The only complaint I have about the interior is the fact that the tiny sun visors don't extend -- so annoying! I'm actually a fan of the mouse-like remote touch system for the nav unit. I find it intuitive. I’ve taken it on several long road trips. The front seats never grew uncomfortable and it's very easy to cruise along an empty interstate at speed -- very stable. The CT is a fantastic car in its own right -- that I have averaged 43+ MPG is icing on the cake! Americans have gone gaga over SUVs, though, which has affected resale value for the CT. Not many people want small, fuel efficient cars anymore, which has pulled the resale value down much more quickly than I anticipated. Even so, I look forward to driving my CT for many years to come!

All a Matter of Perspective

When car shopping there are 2 cars in a persons mind: The ideal car that appeals to their emotion while tugging heart strings, and the car that's the logical, practical choice. This car falls into the latter category, which is no bad thing. Compared to the MB CLA, BMW 320i, and Audi A3, the CT is hardly a standout. But rest assured it'll far outlast any of those 3 in reliability and with lower maintenance costs to boot. Its interior is well laid out, and it possesses the greatest front seats in the business. The media system is simple to use (an easy thing to mess up in a car these days) and the premium audio system is pretty good for a non-branded setup. The Bluetooth streaming is very high quality too, while the interior materials are good for the category, with soft touch stuff where it counts. Its ride (I have the F-Sport with the firmer suspension) is a little harsh but never brittle. It's a controlled tightness that allows bumps into the cabin but takes the edge off each time. As an added plus, the CT can be had for thousands below sticker due to its lower demand, a benefit often overlooked in car reviews. If there's one big drawback to the car, it's the speed, or lack there-of. This is a slow car, no two ways about it, and it doesn't want to be rushed. Thankfully, the engine is well isolated so you won't feel like you're in an economy car when entering the freeway. Luckily speed is the CT's only dynamic downfall. In the hills this little hatch can hold its own when the going gets twisty. Steering is numb but razor sharp and laser precise. The suspension has hardly any role either. The Sport Mode doesn't make the car any faster, but rather sharpens throttle response and weights up the steering for a sporty feel, useful for freeway or canyon use. Power issues aside, the CT never feels like a detached, isolation-pod hybrid whose only purpose is to suck the joy out of its owners in exchange for better savings at the pump. The CT200h is a solid car for anyone looking for solid entry-lux transport in the city. It lacks the pizzazz of its German brethren but is more practical and logical for long term ownership. As an added plus MPG does actually hover around its EPA ratings, and ginger driving will yield near a consistent 48 MPG (I've never gone below 44 MPG myself).

CT 200h w/Nav (2014)---Fun to Drive---

A lot of small to mid-sized sedans (Buick-too tacky interior, Mercedes-gas mileage, Mini-Cooper- too small, Mazda3-good hatchback) were test driven. In the end, the interior styling, comfort, small size (for city parking) and gas mileage benefits swayed me to this vehicle. It is used for city driving and a very long weekly commute. As you can imagine, in the city I keep it in sport mode and on the highway it goes into fuel sipping mode. It is very comfortable on long drives and spirited in the city. Works perfect for my purposes. The difference between sport and fuel sipping mode is remarkable. Also, it doesn't feel "small" when sitting behind the wheel.

We've logged several hundred miles on local road trips so far. It would seem with just 140 or so HP that it would be sluggish up hills but we haven't found that to be the case. It's surprisingly more powerful than we though it would be. We took a trip to our local mountains (8,000 ft plus) and we never felt at all like it wasn't powerful enough. It just wasn't an issue ! It handles very nicely but there is a little more road noise than I liked to compared to our infinity G35. The interior is a little tight and it takes a little more effort to get in and out of because of that and it's lowness to the ground, but we expected to give up some of that for the increase in fuel economy. Love it !

My mindset while getting this car was that its not going to be as fast as my G35 coupe or my RX350 SUV. I needed a car that was good on mileage for my commutes in the New England area and had the style and technology I would love. I got the 2014 F-Sport edition in the Ultrasexy... I mean Ultrasonic Blue. It gets over 40mpg combined which is great! It's 100% Made in Japan. Yes, I still think products made by the Japanese are still far superior than other products made elsewhere. There aren't many f-sport CTs on the road right now. (I guess its because of the huge price tag for a hybrid)

I was shopping for a hybrid 3 years ago to replace a gas guzzling SUV. Loved the styling of the CT, didn't want to get a Prius (I had just bought one for my wife). So I took the plunge. LOVE the CT. So much so that I just replaced the 2011 with a new 2014.

I’ve owned this car for almost 7 years. It still is more technologically advanced than most cars out there. It drives like a dream, as you would expect from Lexus. The savings at the pump still astonishes me. The trunk area is nice and roomy, the back seats fold down to accommodate even a large wheelchair I’m surprised how much I still love this car. My only complaint is the size of the backseat. If you have smaller children it shouldn’t be a problem. However, if you plan on having adults in the back, it’s not a very pleasant ride per my now adult children. I purchased it new when they were smaller. If you are looking for a solid, dependable vehicle the 2013 Lexus CT200h is definitely worth considering.

Nice car with the Toyota reliability and the Lexus luxury. Did a lot of research on-line and thought this was the car for me. Although I was looking for a sporty, economical commuter car, the Lexus CPO warranty sold me. Decent car but with extremely small back seat and leg room. Except for an infant in a car seat or a small child, I don't think may larger kids or adults would be comfortable. I liked that hatchback feature although the storage area is small. Nice features and really like the estimated mpg. Decent interior features and accessories that you would expect with a Lexus. After test driving the 200h, then the 300h, ended up buying the 300h for the extra luxury and comfort on my 100 mile/day commute.

2013 Lexus ct200h Review After 2 Year ownership.

I bought the vehicle with 70000 miles on it and replaced spark plugs ,intake air filter , and have been doing toyota 0-20 oil changes every 7k miles. My car now has 130xxx and it started to misfire to the point where I was not comfortable driving it. I started doing some research and well the apparently they are notorious for carbon build up. Did some more research and found and diy egr cleaning video on YouTube. Sure enough just performed the job today and it started running normal again. The diy job was pretty intense. Took me approx. 4 hours because of all the tight spots that you have to get into. But anyway the carbon build up seems to be happing to a lot of toyotas/ Lexus vehicles. Dec 2017 did an engine rebuild at the dealership because somehow the block was warped. After the rebuild engine is shaking at start up again. Issue was brought up to dealer and still pending. Not impressed lexus.

Upgraded from a base 2010 Prius Much more comfortable and a lot prettier. Less cargo space but great commuter. Engine compression issues. Lexus offered me 5k as a trade in before quoting me a repair price and research showed this had been happening to several of people-so hey knew about this issue. Bitter taste in my mouth since this car has been maintained at the dealer since I got it.

Bought this car at end of 2014 inventory year and at True Car "Good Price" recommendation. This car is and F Sport Premium trim level but now, 6.5 months into 2016 Private party resale is a measly $24,000.00. That is almost $23,000 off our purchase price. NOT HAPPY!! Aside from that, this car is a great city car and very good road trip car. Turning radius is so good that I can almost turn around on a two lane road. Lots of room in the garage too. Acceleration is poor but adequate and we have averaged almost 43 mpg over our 27,000 miles. Not bad. Cargo space even with the back seats folded flat is not adequate for road trips but we managed two trips to Florida jammed tightly with two Shi Tzus and luggage in spite of that. Difficult. Car gets lots of compliments, most often from some kid on a skate board but just the same. I can almost wash the entire roof from one side because the car is so low but it gets lost easily in the parking lot because it can hide behind something as small as a Volkswagen Rabbit. We have learned to make sure to remember what row it is parked in. Except for anticipating taking a beating when selling or trading, we give the car a "B" mostly for good looks and economy.

I bought a brand new Lexus Ct200h in August of 2014. Loved the car till January when crackling and rattling was heard in the dashboard. Two months later and several visits to the dealership and was finally told that the rattling is a "normal characteristic" of the car. I have documentation that says that the cold weather is a cause for the sound. Am now in step one of Lexus arbitration process. Hoping for the best but not expecting it. Should anyone accept rattling in a brand new car especially a luxury car?

I was a very loyal Lexus owner. I purchased 2 Rx300s in a row and couldn't say enough good stuff about Lexus. My only disappointment was the non- availability of the Mark Levenson sound system. That frustration sent me to a piece of junk domestic mfg. Back to present day...... I wanted to get something different. One day I was in a parking lot and saw the CT. I knew it was a Lexus however I never saw one before. I followed it and took note of the model number. After a little Internet research I went for the test drive and was very impressed. I expected a very sluggish pseudo sports sedan. It is anything but fast however it was much quicker than expected. Only one day in but I love it!

2013 Long Term Review - 55,000 miles

This has been a great car. My overall gas mileage for 55,000 miles is 46.5 mpg. The car is extremely reliable and the only warranty repair I had was replacement of the AC blower because the bearings went bad. It is the equivalent of a mini suv when the back seats are down. The only limitation is the navigation system. It is difficult to use and intrusive. My I-Phone navigation system is much better and more up to date. Lexus is discontinuing the model after 2017 which is too bad because it is a reasonably priced, good hybrid car.

This car is actually very slow. But it feels really fast! Perhaps because it is low to the grown and the suspension and steering is sport tuned. It is a very fun car to drive. Handles well. Cargo space is extremly limited and the tech package is out of date.

I got this vehicle on August 2nd. The day after I got it to check engine light came on. A week after I got it it made a noise, and five warning lights came on including the hybrid system light. I took it back to the dealer and they quote unquote fixed it. The day after I picked it up the check engine light came back on. A week later, the hybrid system light is on again. It is currently at the selling dealer, they say it is under a 90-day warranty so hopefully they can fix it.

I wasn’t looking for this car.. it found us. We were looking for a hybrid. On a random day we went to an Audi/ vw dealership and we’re trying old about this little ore owned gem... it checked all the boxes from fuel economy to performance to style.. sporty sleek and sexy. SOLD! Now after the fact (irresponsible I know) I am thrilled to read the reviews of this hot little lux devil and am glad we went for it when we saw the perfec fit for our needs! Thank you Lexus for your safe quality luxury hybrid... we are sold! Ps.. we are TALL people and this cars headroom is great plus we have frowning children who fit very comfortably into this car! ... one thought for Lexus.. need cup holders in the rear ;).

I've had my CT200h for 2 weeks now, and while I really liked the car when I bought it, it has turned out to be better than I expected. Let's start with gas mileage: I'm getting 50 mpg (not 42). It's way comfy and easy to get in and out of. The acceleration is just fine (and I drive a lot on the highway). It's very solid and more fun to drive than I ever expected. Overall, this was a much better choice than some of the other hybrids I considered (I only drive hybrids; this is my third). And heck, there's snob appeal to driving a Lexus, too.

Bought my '2013 in '2014 with 13k miles. I now have 143k miles and I've NEVER been to the dealership. I do all my own maintenance. I had 2 issues that I fixed. The first was the power door lock motor; replaced for $13. The second was the A/C controller; replaced for $35 (eBay). The trunk is small but I was able to get both my Doberman and Pitbull in the back for a short drive to the park. I added a trailer hitch/lighting and towed a 5X8 trailer with my parent's dining room set from NJ to TN. I towed the same size trailer to move items locally. Brakes lasted 111k miles. They probably would have lasted longer if I didn't tow but I'm not complaining. Will I win any races? Yes! I actually beat an M5 in the quarter mile! It was bumper to bumper traffic but that's NJ rush hour!

My husband and I, bought the 2013 F Sport used. It had just under 9k when we bought it, nearly a year ago. It now has 26k. I took it on a road trip this Summer, from WA to NM, AZ, NV and back to WA! I managed to fit myself, 3 dogs (2 med. 1 sm), my overweight friend (sorry friend!) and all our stuff! I was comfy, my friend and the dogs not so much... Mainly because my friend took up most of the room, with herself and her bags. We were all fine on the way back, without my friend. I did pickup my niece who's about my size. 5'4/115lbs. So 2 average adults, 3 dogs and everyone's stuff fits fine and we were all comfortable!
