Used 2020 Kia Soul Consumer Reviews
Kia Soul - Bad Transmission 37,000 Miles
I bought my Kia Soul about a year ago. I drive a long commute for work so I put about 37,000 miles on it. That’s when the transmission broke...at 37,000 miles. It started slipping so I took it to the dealership. They told me it was the computer and that it just needed an update. Picked up my car from the dealer and took it for a drive and it was still slipping. I started heading home and lost all power to the wheels. I pulled off to the side of the road and the vehicle was stuck in 5th gear...I know, there are no gears in a cvt but this is what was indicated on the display. Anyway, we crawled home and then had the car towed to the dealership. The service manager said it was a bad transmission and they replaced it at no cost. Took about a week. I’m not the only one with this issue. Do your homework. There are dozens of people on the internet with this same issue. Do not buy this make and model. It has a bad transmission.

Great Car - Wait and See Transmission
I purchased the top trim just to get LED headlights and fog lights. Glad I did. My Soul is a box full of tech and super quick once the transmission decides to go. I actually look forward to driving. The infotainment screen is gigantic, stereo system rocks, mood lighting chills and sunroof opens it up. The heads up display is clear and FULL COLOR. lots of bang for the buck. I have only two complaints. The transmission is occasionally a bit hesitant to deliver power and the start/stop is a little too aggressive. For example pulling into the garage and before I can fully stop, the engine cuts out only to snap back to life two seconds later when I put it in park.

FANTASTIC LITTLE/BIG CAR
I had to finally trade my 2008 Kia Optima in with 193000. I was sad to see it go, but I LOVE my new Kia Soul GT (Clear White/Red Top). I was skeptical at first, but this car has so much room, rides great and has a lot of perks for the price! I like the 18 inch wheels and the fact it feels like I'm driving a small SUV. Highly recommend!!

My new 2020 Kia Soul Ex
I traded in a 2013 Kia Soul + which I truly enjoyed driving. The Soul is such a fun car to drive. I traded the 2013 Soul for the new design 2020 Kia Soul Ex. This car is so much more fun to drive..... a wider stance and feels somewhat heavier than the 2013. With all the features you get with the Ex, it is worth the additional cost to upgrade to the Ex. If you are looking for a fun car, buy the new 2020 Soul.
Comfy but annoying and unreliable.
Pros: Comfy seats even on long trips Cons: 1. Impossible to lock car with engine running, even manually. So, if you want to leave the AC on for a pet in the car, you have to leave the car unlocked. 2. At 43,000 miles, things have begun to break. Driver side door lock will not unlock anymore. I have to open the back door and reach to the front to unlock my driver door with my finger. I can lock it with the fob or the power lock button, just not unlock it. Radiator needed to be replaced at 40,009 miles and the driver side wipe simply stopped working at 36,100 miles. I have an uneasy feeling about long-term reliability with this 2020 Soul, since things are beginning to break so early on.
