This is my second Kia Soul .I leased my first one in 2017. truthfully at first i thought i would try a different car, just to change up but after looking at the other Kia models within my price range i didnt want a run of the mill sedan ( forte ) and parking in brooklyn NYC is a nightmare.I am really not hard to please and had only a few requirements one it had to have enough room for my dog ( a large ) cane corso 2 its reliable and 3 good air conditioning ..after looking at all the changes to the soul i decided on another one.and i am extremely happy.the drive is a little better in terms the car feels bigger and has a lot more power for those belt parkway merges .i like the front grill and the smaller headlights its just a cool looking car.i drove the 2017 base model for 3 years and went about 23,000 miles and never had issues mechanically . never got a flat tire or got stuck in snow.just a nice car.its great for commuting because of great gas mileage and even though this one is slightly longer its great for the tight NYC parking spaces

I got this car as my second car. Have been driving this car for one year now. The car has 7000 miles on it. The first time the car just stopped (less than 4000 miles) had it towed. All the oil was gone. Second time the engine got very hot and car started smoking. The oil was over again. There was a case opened by Kia. When I call to ask them why is that happening with the oil consumption being so high they have no answer for me. They fixed the recall so I guess will wait it out and see if that helps. I love the car otherwise. I currently have the lx and I wanted to change cars in another 2 years and go for the higher trim level but at this point all I want it to be rid of my car and never buy Kia again. So disappointed.

I own the xline and it is a great car. While this is first kia soul I have owned, it will not be my last. A great, fun little subcompact crossover which is loaded with extras. I highly recommend this car to anyone .

Soulfully Disappointed

My second Kia Soul: I also had a 2013 Soul Exclaim. And I actually prefer my previous Soul to the current model. I appreciate the safety tech and I'm getting excellent gas mileage but this car lacks the personality that my previous Soul had. I miss the quirky interior with the hounds tooth fabric and the flashing speaker lights and more funky styling. even the model designations were cooler...Exclaim (!), Plus (+), etc are way more unique than "S", "Ex", X-Line", etc. And no more Hamsters? Replaced with a chameleon?? Seriously ??? Kia needs to remember who brought it to the dance. Major issues I've had thus far are the OE tires. They hate to get wet and can be treacherous in the rain. I replaced them at 3,000 miles and the difference is dramatic. But the headlights are without a doubt the worst I have ever had on a car. I drive with my brights on and rarely get signaled. My service advisor believes a recall is forthcoming but if I had test driven the car at night I absolutely wouldn't have bought it. And lastly, i hate the fact that you have to go all in for the top of the line turbo model to get certain options, i.e. pedestrian detection or an upgraded stereo system. It didn't use to be like that. I don't feel the need to spend an extra $7-$8 grand just to get flashing speaker lights although I do miss them. And I miss my 2013 Soul too.

I love this car, handles well, comfortable ride, has lots of goodies and is perfect for me. Not too big and not too small, and has plenty of pick up for a 4 cylinder...Love it!!!! Has everything I need!
