2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4dr SUV (3.6L 6cyl 8A)
I recently bought a 2023 Grand Cherokee Limited. People complain about the cost but with incentives, my Limited model 4X2 dropped the price by $6,000 from MSRP. That put it in price with a Laredo. The standard features in the Limited made the price very competitive when compared with other similarly equipped SUV's.
At 6'2", the others fell "short" of a good driving position. If there … was enough legroom, I could barely reach the steering wheel like in the Kia Telluride and Hyundai Palisade. I liked those vehicles but the Jeep has more telescopic adjustment and fits me perfectly. The Jeep also feels more solid, has a better quality feel and is quieter than the other SUV's I drove.
I'm a bit boney and no one talks about how hard seats have become in new vehicles that claim to offer "better support." Having seats hard as bricks like in the Telluride, was a big turnoff for me. Also, again with my height, the seat pans in the competition are typically too short as well. The Grand Cherokee seats, though not soft, offer a bit more comfort, seat pan length and softness for me.
I had a 2017 Grand Cherokee and really liked it but the new model is definitely more refined and nicer to drive. It's a great highway cruiser offering a smooth, quiet ride that handles road imperfections with aplomb.
I test drove a new Buck Enclave, too. The Buick was nice if you don't mind driving a vehicle that feels like a minivan in most ways. The Jeep is definitely more fun to drive. I liked the VW Atlas and almost bought one but the price incentives were better on the Jeep. In total I drove the Atlas, Telluride, Palisade, Explorer, Enclave, Chevy Blazer, Mazda CX9 (super hard seats) and Toyota Highlander. I liked the Jeep best regardless of price.
I see a few minor imperfections in my new Jeep. The driver's door protrudes out a bit more than it should when closed. There is also a large trim piece across the length of the dash at the back that is not quiet sealed on one side. Hoping the dealer will address these issues.
Overall, I am very satisfied thus far with my purchase. The biggest selling point for me is the excellent driving position. The best I have found. For the kind of driving I do living in a congested area, the Grand Cherokee is the best for me.
