Very Good SUV
Have had this SUV for about 3& half years, with 41,000 miles. Has been very, very reliable. Noticed someone else wrote their fuel sensor is bad, mine also is borken and always reads "E". Other than that not one problem, nothing. Love the pick-up and the transmission shifts very smoothly. Want to get another Isuzu but hate to let this one go. Its still under power train warranty and has been so good to me.
1999 Rodeo "The Best"
Bought my 99 Rodeo about 7 years ago "used" with 30K miles. Been the BEST Auto I have ever had and I have owned many ...... !! Serviced and changed oil regularly as scheduled. Now has over 135,000 miles and still runs great and is nice and tight. Only repairs made during my 105k ownership aside from tires & brakes is a starter replacement and gasket leak to sealed transmission about $400.00 cost. and a couple of batteries. Made many long trips it is a pleasure to drive. Average Hwy 21 mpg at 70 & 75 miles an hour. Wish I could find another with lower miles would buy it in a heart beat ..... You gotta shoot-em to kill - em ..... Great Mid-Size SUV ... !!
99 Rodeo
This auto has been very dependable. Winter and Power buttons in undesirable place. Would like longer sun visors. Haven't had any difficulties with this car. All in all, if I were to buy another SUV, I'd consider another Rodeo.
Reliable but VERY ROUGH RIDING
Purchased car used. Engine is very reliable over the years. Major problem with the axle (breather tube) over heats. Replaced twice. Isuzu was aware of these problems with their car. With exception of axle problems, just normal wear and tear maintenance performed over the years. Mileage never reach potential as I would only get 14 to 20 miles/gal.
Many, many problems
I've had this SUV for about 4 years and it has less than 100k miles on it (only 28K being put on by me). I would never buy another Isuzu. The following has gone out or been replaced: gas gauge stopped working, front and back brakes and drums replaced, in dash CD player rebuilt after eating my CDs, rebuilt the transmission, all four tires, shocks, air conditioning compressor, and the water pump. It was in the shop 3 months ago with a bill over over $1,000. There's now something wrong with the anti lock brakes as the car keeps shimmying when I apply the brakes. It rattles and squeaks all the time. A great SUV if you want to repair it yourself.
