Meet the CR-Z Killer
I took delivery of a 2012 Veloster this past Saturday. I had been looking real hard at the Honda CR-Z but there were just some things that Honda cut corners on and left off that car that just did not sit well with me. The hybrid motor was also a big turn off as it just over complicated the car and did not really increase its fuel economy. Enter the Hyunda Veloster. The Veloster is everything that the CR-Z wanted to be. More features, better ride, just as much power and better fuel economy with out the hybrid cost/complication. Unless Honda does something quick the CR-Z is dead in two years I predict.
Wouldn't choose anything different <3
I bought this car used in April of 2013. I absolutely love it!! I did my research, test drove a few different vehicles, but I found myself drawn to this beauty. Some people found that the performance was not to their liking, but I find it quite nice. I don't need a high performance car and this is a perfect fit. I love everything about it, but I really love that you get so much for such a low price. I love the tech and I feel spoiled using my push start button and rear view camera. It is a great economic and safe care for 20 year olds.

Good little hatch with surprising room
I bought the '12 Veloster in NYC and drove it cross-country to LA on my move, packed with two dogs, a girlfriend and more bags than I ever thought it could handle. I stopped mid-way on the trip at my parents' place and as I was unloading, my mother commented that it was like a clown car with the amount of luggage coming out of there. If you pack right, its' truly remarkable what you can fit. From a looks perspective, the Veloster was a little ahead of its time. People thought it was fantastic or ugly as sin. Now 3 years later I see a ton of them on the road in LA. Clearly, it's catching on.
Worse car I've ever owned
After owning many Nissans, I switched over to Hyundai because I heard how great their warranty program was. What a mistake. The 2012 Veloster was the worst car I have ever owned. The low profile tires are worthless, constantly blowing out. There is no spare but you can buy one for $275.00. Hyundai lied about the gas mileage. Hyundai refused to provide a spare tire. I could not sell that car fast enough. I know someone with the exact car that needed a transmission after 15K miles. At least that was covered. The six tires that needed to be replaced weren't. Would never buy another Hyundai again.
Good car for the money
I have 11500 miles on my veloster and I believe its everything as advertised. I get about 36 MPG 20% city 80% highway. The interior is cheesy, easy to scratch but what should you expect for the money. Bluetooth works well except when you have 2 phones stored it when you start off it looks for the last one that was stored, fails so you have to mannually connect it. When the moon roof is open it is very loud. The stereo system is good and the ride is smooth. The handling is as good as a mazda miata but the pickup from start is slow but to be expected from a 1.6L. Overall I am very pleased with the vehicle.
