Honda won't fix recurring problems
I have had problems from the beginning with my Pilot EX-L and Honda's customer no-service is maddening to deal with. You can't talk to anyone but the person who answers the phone, who is obviously trained at stonewalling the customer. The vehicle will hesitate and lose power and the gas mileage is HORRIBLE. I get better mileage from my V-8 truck than from the Pilot. If you buy a Pilot you better hope you don't have problems because Honda won't fix them.
Great SUV !
This vehicle is awesome. I own a BMW X3 and the Pilot comfort ride is just as good. I enjoy the fuel economy it gives compared to other SUVs. It's roomy and the engine has a nice pick up. I have the EX-L and love the upgrades. I just can't get enough of my Honda Pilot. TRUST ME, I have a Toyota 4runner, BMW X3, Nissan 300z, along with a small list of cars but I just can't get enough of the pilot. I love my Honda. It's one of the BEST car buys that I've made in my life !

Definitely not a highway car
The vehicle is an in-town performer. Quick and agile, good boat ramp puller, and plenty of family features. However, extreme road noise on the highway and lousy front brake rotor design makes for a disappointing product. If the load is light and the speeds are low, this is a good neighborhood vehicle. But a road warrior, it is not.
Poor Reliability
Just purchased my wife's Pilot about 5 months ago. Ride, handling and comfort are pretty good, but Honda reliability is not there. The radiator recently "failed" causing the coolant to be circulated into the transmission. Radiator/thermostat need to be replaced. The engine and transmission need to be flushed as well. So far this has cost us $1500. I'm just waiting for the transmission to fail requiring a $3-4K replacement all because of a defective radiator! Would NOT buy this vehicle again. Honda also will not admit there's a problem with their radiators on these Pilots. This barge replaced a 1998 Odyssey which was a far better car.
