Ideal large family vehicle
The car has a smooth ride, and road noise is minimal on highway. We added a hitch and roof rack, and with 6 adults and loaded with cargo, the car handles quite nicely except that it is underpowered, especially if it's fully loaded. Acceleration and hill climbs are slower than I would like. This car has a lot of cargo space with room for car seats in 2nd and 3rd rows, though access to 3rd row can be a bit challenging for an average adult. 3rd row is best for kids or small adults as legroom is limited. We are happy with this car. Great family or roadtrip vehicle. It's held its value well, and we will be holding on to it for a long time.
2004 Honda Pilot 275,000+ Miles
This car was passed down to me after my mom had been driving it for 12 years and it is the best first car I could ever ask for. It is a tough vehicle and very spacious making it easy to transport between households. There are minor flaws that have occurred over the years, one of my biggest concerns is the metal on the door handles that have come off. Even with 275,000+ miles I have a feeling that this vehicle will still be kicking for a while.

Still great after 8 years and over 200k miles
My 2004 Pilot EXL is still great after 8 years and over 200,000 miles. I bought it in spring of '06 when it had 50k miles, so someone before me drove a lot, too. I've not had all the issues I've read about, but I don't abuse the vehicle. I get oil changes every 5-6k miles, but do spread out the scheduled maintenances and fluid changes a bit more due to quickly rolling up highway miles. My Pilot replaced a Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4x4 that had the gas-guzzling 5.2 liter V8. The main reason I replaced the JGC was due to terrible gas mileage (9-15) and slipping transmission. I've not had any transmission issues with my Pilot, but I don't abuse it, either!
Our Family's Memory-Maker
We bought this car brand new, the first model of the Pilot in 2004. We've taken some great trips, drove kids to sports, school, and now we use it for driving grandchildren! It still runs like new and has always parked in our garage. We make sure we do the proper maintenance on it, and there's never been a major repair. It's a great family car for us. Now my husband wants me to buy a newer one.

Best SUV we ever owned.
This is clearly the best SUV that we ever owned. Over the last 16 years we have owned over 30 cars and this is probably the best one overall of all the vehicles. When it comes to SUVs no other beats it. We have had a Durango, Liberty, Passport (both Honda and Isuzu version and CRV (2x). This is the best mix of style, room and functionality that an SUV can have. The third row pulls out easily for when the in-laws come over or the seats fold flat for the runs to the dump. Our Durango spent more time in the shop than on the road so this has been pleasant to fill and go with the regularly scheduled oil change and maintenance. Handles like a dream, even in the rough New England winters.
