Used 2008 Honda Odyssey Consumer Reviews
The Van to have!
If you have to own a van hands down this is the van you want. Let's face it. It is a Honda! Bought our EX-L new in 2008 about 2500 under invoice. Extremely reliable, fun, looks great feels great. We only have 1 child (9) but love to travel to Florida and elsewhere. Plenty of room and I can easily get 27mpg cruising 75mph on the interstate. Headlights are phenomenal, design is great. I'm looking for a 2010 right now. I catch a lot of crap from friends for "driving a minivan" but this is a sweet ride and great resale.
Either the van or dealership not up to par
I payed 8 grand in 2021 not quite 1 yr ago and the dealership i bought it from agreed to replace broken fog lights included in price then 5 months later when they did fix fog lights they didnt put new clips in to hold up bottom plastic while at dealership i asked about gps map giving wrong date and time it said 2001 or 2002 they told me that honda was aware of the problem and would have a fix by august here it is august and it says 2003 so its only 5yrs. Befor the van was even made according to gps map. Because of that im not sure if its the dealership or van itself but in 10 months i have had to replace $300 alternator glove box wouldnt open due to loose screws and plastic cover to it moving out of place which would also cause glove box light to continuously go on and off keep in mind all this started after very expensive and hard to get to to replace alternator replacement and a plastic panel thing in front passenger side seems to keep coming loose and on occasion it seams like the transmission isnt catching quite right. I bought this van because reviews said it was basicly one of 2 vans that went over 200000 miles with no problem mine had 191??? Miles when i bought it i fiured i should let people know it may go over 200000 miles but not by much. Befor expensive repairs. So here it is august 2023 and gps date says 2004 still no fix imagine that.

Cheap - Junk - Bad Buy
This is my first Japanese brand vehicle and I am very disappointed. I had a 2006 Town & Country that I really loved. No issues ever in 30,000 miles. Then I get talked into this Honda Odyssey. Well 19 trips to the dealer in 10 months for repairs to the brakes, transmission, seat heaters, oil leaks, electrical system and door motors makes me not recommend this, or any other Japanese nameplate.
Good Van
The van has great interior fit finish and space flexibilty. Little I would do to improve, other than some road noise and very poor MPG. With the variable cylinder management, I has hoping to get near the sticker MPG. There seems to be some extra vibration in the steering column when the engine is under load. It was bad enough I actually thought a tire was out of balance - easy to get at and change the engine oil.
Car
We bought this car in 2008 and it is wonderful. It runs great. The navigation system is great and it has zagat 2007 restaurant ratings. When I drove it, it was smooth, not bumpy. The gear shifter is at the dashboard, unlike the Dodge caravan, which is on the steering wheel. The rear-seat entertainment system is good and it features two wireless headphones. It is spacious and the seats are comfortable. Overall, I love the Odyssey!
