REGRET BUYING THIS CAR!
Terrible seats and driving position, no armrest nor left foot rest. Automatic transmission has a 3-4 second hesitation when you step down on it at low speeds, 2-4 mph, before it downshifts to 1st gear. This is very dangerous at intersections, and has almost gotten me t-boned on several occasions. They are all like this, according to Honda, who could care less. I drove 2 others and they have the same hesitation. Honda should be forced to recall the automatic Fits and fix this dangerous defect! This has really soured me on Honda, even though I had no problems with previous Hondas. Not enough power. Gas mileage less than expected. Handling, cargo capacity good. Can hardly wait to get rid of it!
Bought With A Purpose
I got a great price by shopping on- line. I bought the Honda Fit because I took a new job that has a commute of 200 miles per day. The commute is mostly highway and I average 36 MPG when adhering to the posted speed limit. When I go with the flow of traffic, I average 30 MPG. Responsive steering, smooth ride for a small car, interior roominess, a (standard) good sound system., great gas mileage and overall reliability are the reasons I bought this car. The only negative is the unimpressive paddle shifters on the steering wheel which can be accidentally activated with an errant finger movement, and they are functionally limited. They should remove them for their 2008 model.

Great car
I've had my Honda Fit Sport automatic just over a month. The gas mileage the first three tanks, all 75-80% city driving: 24.6, 23.7, 24.7 mpg, less than I had hoped for. In every other way, it has been terrific. The braking, steering, and acceleration from a city stop are all very sensitive and responsive. I had the goal of purchasing a safe, reliable, economical, environmentally friendly (qualifies as LEV) fun-to-drive and not exorbitantly expensive vehicle. I feel like that's what I have. I test drove Yaris, Versa, Mazda3 and researched many others. For the best price, I went about 75 miles out of Los Angeles after extensively contacting Honda dealers' internet sales folks.
Excellent Design and Built
I am in Xiamen, China and have to manuveur often in limited spaces. Its short profile saves me tons of headache while its interior provides ample room. It rides better than any other cars in its price range. It's stylish, roomy, powerful, environment- friendly and versatile. For the price, many other auto makers may just give you barely a commuter vehicle.
Love it!
I didn't make the decision to purchase this car. It was the only car on the lot that fit my budget, I didn't even like the color (red) but I had no choice. However, I have not been disappointed, other than the low front bumper that I had to get repaired twice. (at no cost). I just recently took my littel red car to PA from VA. She did great!!! I filled up my tank once going and once leaving, without stopping for gas I made it to my destinations leaving 1/4 tank of gas. She drove smoothly, kept up with the flow of traffic, and I was comfortable because of the space in the car.
