When the alternator worked.
We had a spell of a couple months were we could not keep an alternator in the van. However, once we got the problem solved (4 alternators later) the van has been great. Gas mileage is not so good, but its a comfortable ride. We have the SEL. One of the power doors broke and they are very heavy without the motor moving it. They are spacious and great for long drives.
Do not buy this vehicle
I heed warning to anyone who is interested in a Ford Windstar. Make sure you look around before you make your decision. This is a nice vehicle at first, until you start looking at what you can get for your money at the other brands. I think the best minivan on the market today is the Dodge Grand Caravan / Chrysler Town and Country! Where else can you get industry exclusive infrared climate control that is automatic, Power sliding doors with obsticle detection system, and a power rear lift gate standard? You can't even get them elsehere as an option. These are by far the supreme minivan on the market!

Windstar 2003 SE

Fine for Us
So far, we've been very pleased with the Ford Windstar. It's not posh inside, but certainly a great value. The "check tires" light has gone off more than expected, but it's easy enough to reset.
