Great truck

The F350DRW is one great truck, handles my Lance truck camper with no issues. The 6.7 diesel provides excellent power and really good fuel mileage. My old F250 6.4 diesel did good but this truck doesn't even know that it is loaded with a 3k+ camper.

2019 F350 SRW Crew Cab Lariat 6.7L diesel

I'm am new to owning a truck, let alone a 1 ton truck. The f350 was purchased so we could haul a 16K lb 5th wheel RV. Most of the time, it is our daily driving vehicle. I love it. It sits up high and rides very well on the highway. We made a 2000 mile trek to Florida and back with the bed full of stuff. We have yet to haul the RV since we still need to purchase a 5th wheel hitch. The drivability is very nimble with the adaptive steering. When passing slower traffic, the f350 will respond quite effectively. Having purchased used with 16K miles, the steering was sloppy. I had the dealer replace the steering damper which tightened up the steering and made it feel new again. From my research, the steering damper is undersized for this vehicle. I plan to replace the steering damper with a more heavy duty Fox damper. The interior has plenty of room and fits my 6'3" frame better than sedans or SUV's that I've owned over the years. This model came with the Tow Package and the Ultimate tow camera system. The 360 view is a big help when lining up in smaller parking spaces. We added a spray-in liner, tonneau cover, all weather mats and mud flaps. My only regret is not owning an f350 sooner. I feel that we purchased the sweet spot with the 2019 was the last year before the 3rd generation 6.7L diesel was released in 2020.

O’l Infotainment “

My 4th F350, a ultimate lariat. Great truck now but it took my Dealer 17 times to fix minor infotainment issues and recalls. One major thing ( safety ) they could not fix was the “death wobbles” in the steering. They followed Ford’s protocol; steering dampener, track bar bushings/ ball joints and tires but just a band aide. I got to the point where I did not trust it. Took it to a independent shop to get a alignment check print out and it was within fords spec , but I noticed the caster angles were on the low end of the spec. ( 3.9 L- 4.2 R) . I had the shop align the truck to 5.4L- 5.7R on caster alignment ( almost like my 2000 and 2002 f350 4x4’s still own) . Truck now handles with confidence pulling trailers going out to Texas hill country. I showed my dealer and service manager even test drove it. He is now doing the same service for other customer's trucks, that are problem child’s “. He could not reimburse me (not a Ford sanctioned repair) but has gave me a couple of free oil changes and one fuel filter change out. - Now on infotainment; I wish I had bought a XL truck without the big distraction screen that goes blank or starts showing the back up camera going down the road, can’t change radio stations , gone crazy GPS ! - But it’s ok now as my Ford dealer got it fixed right ( for now) - Panoramic Moooon roof;!! That thing busted to bits opening it . Dealer fixed it right and even got their window tinter to lay ceramic light tint film underneath side in case it does it again will try hold some of the glass chards flying down. I also got a small tube of Krytox to lube the gasket seals every 4 or 5 months. It works perfect now. DEF Tank; dealer replaced it and pump , (clean job) week later started leaking at pump seal. Dealer fixed it with another tank and pump, ( good thing I saved every recipt for Motorcraft DEF) dealer said Ford try’s to worm out of that too. *- Tip !!! Dealer told me to keep every fuel purchase recipt and write the mileage in case of fuel system issues. Ford will not cover this . ( contamination on fuel) and use genuine factory fuel filters, drain your fuel filter once a month and you will be fine. The sad part is my 2000 and 2002 f350’s have only been in the shop for repairs 10 or 12 times since I have owned them and the purchase price for both paid of them is not quite close to what I paid for this 17 f350. (Almost $72,000) . -If today I had do buy a new f350 it would be a XL without the big infotainment “ do-dads , vinyl seats and floor, as simple as Ford will make it! - now that will be one heck of a truck for what a truck is for. - Update - 5/ 23/ 22; Truck just turned 29,000 mi and now having the confidence to drive it in Texas where the cell phone don’t work.. Dealers have tried to offer me close to the same what I paid for it new. I am concerned ford extended warranty is going out in 1 year and the truck will become a infotainment money pit”.. I am looking at ordering a F350 Xl - 4x4 with no infotainment and 7.3 gas ($1.00 more gal for diesel) or a Ram 3500 Tradesmen..

diesel engine problems

6.7 diesel is better than the last two built in house diesel motors ,but it is no where as reliable as the 7.3 diesel. There are just too many problems with the cooling of non iron heads, this engine is not going start a million mile fan club.

Bought this truck with only 22,400 miles on it from Town East Ford in Mesquite, Texas just 9 months ago. After just 12,000 miles the car is sitting at another Ford Dealership since 7/09/21 needing $17,000 in unexpected, no fault of mine repairs.
