Used 2010 Ford Escape Hybrid Consumer Reviews
No wonder Ford leads the Big 3
I had been looking at the FEH for a while and happened to find the one I wanted a dealer nearby, so I went to check it out. Anyway two hours later I had traded in my 2004 Chevy Malibu Maxx for my new FEH. So far I have put about 8600 miles on it in the 4 months I have had the car and I love driving it. I've got a 35 mile commute from the north side of Chicago to the western suburbs (a mix of city, freeway and horrendous traffic), and I feel as though the FEH must have been designed to drive my commute. Long haul trips are a breeze as well with the sync system to entertain (or distract) during long hours behind the wheel.
Served me with aplum!
Ease of driving; easy handling and reliable engine; comfortable for driver and passengers; automatic lights inside and out; great visibility; good cargo space for mulch, etc. and dogs; never more than regular maintenance needed.

Love the fun even though it's 14 years old!
I actually wonder about its reliability - Still going strong even after 14 years. Only problem I found so far was with the ac. There is a minor leak somewhere.

Unstoppable hybrid that's cheap as chips
I picked up my 2009 Ford Escape Hybrid in 2018 with only 65K km on it. I've had zero mechanical issues (other than some rust, but the car came from Alberta, so that's to be expected). The 4WD is capable in the backcountry and the CVT transmission hasn't given me any grief in the mountains or offroading, even rock-crawling decommissioned logging roads. City or country, this 4wd hybrid is perfectly comfortable in either, and it costs pennies to run compared to traditional ICE SUVs.
Engine shuts down completely
Had only 2,500 miles, weather conditions were hot, a/c was on, driving around town, lots of starting and stopping, gas engine would kick-in at times, and all of a sudden, the car just shuts down. Tracking light goes on, car dies, no power to nothing. Stranded. Had to sit for 30 minutes, tried it again, and worked, took to Haggerty Ford, found no error codes, nothing wrong, said maybe we blocked vents in back, there were not blocked, 1,500 miles later, same thing happened with same conditions, not, humid, a/c running, short trips around town, car completely dies out. Taking it to Ford dealer again, Has this happened to anybody out there. We've totally lost any confidence in this car.
