out-ST-anding!
I recently picked up my 2020 Edge ST, ordered straight from the factory, and thus far couldn't be happier. I'm the former owner of 4 different model-year Fusions and barely had any issues with them, so I've remained loyal. This time around I wanted something taller, faster, meaner on the road, and continually relevant in Ford's quest for SUV/Crossover domination. So far, my triple-black ST has lived up to this demand. On the road I feel in command, safe, and envied for my smart and sexy decision. I have minor complaints about the fluidity of the transmission but I'm sure that's nothing a calibration at the dealer can't fix. I've also got some steering wheel controls that sometimes stick in place, but again, a matter that the warranty and dealership can easily address. While the steering wheel does telescope adequately, sometimes I wish it did so more, to keep my shorter arms in sync with my longer legs. The piano black trim on the center console is not for the faint-hearted as it can scratch if not treated with kid gloves; an issue that could be easily remedied with a low-gloss option, such as the attractive pseudo-carbon fiber on the dash trim. The full LED headlight and taillight set-up is drool-worthy, as are the trapezoidal dual exhaust outlets which set this vehicle even further apart on the road. The aggressive body treatments scream sculpted muscle and the 21" gloss black wheels and tires own the road. My biggest gripe with Ford is that in cost-cutting, they removed the traditional dual-note horn. So upon pickup, my menacing ST sounded like a clown car. Luckily the replacement part available from the parts department came with the normal dual-note horn so it was installed under warranty immediately and classified as a manufacturing issue. Shame on Ford for thinking the average driver would not notice such an audible travesty. If you're in the market for the Edge ST, I would HIGHLY recommend the 401A package. It's costly, but so worth it, especially with the rebates and incentives Ford offers. The panoramic sunroof, available a-la-carte or in the 401A, is an amazing addition to a vehicle of this size and class. You almost break your neck trying to turn around and see how far back it stretches, and the open air and sunlight are welcome passengers in the dark interior. The 401A is also the only way to get cooled seats; the benefits of which I shouldn't need to explain to anyone who lives where summer dwells. There are also additional outstanding safety features and tech in the 401A that once you drive with, you won't want to drive without, such as adaptive headlamps, active park-assist, and front-view camera. In the name of remaining relevant and worthy as career car aficionados, popular online reviewers obsess over the minutia that most everyday drivers will never see or care about. The 2020 Ford Edge ST is an amazing entry in a segment being redefined by Ford. Since most people interested in buying and driving this vehicle are NOT professionals, lets leave the nitpicking to the apes.

This Ford Edge is FANTASTIC 👍♥️
Traded 2015 Fusion Titanium- love it! But was becoming more difficult to simply get in and out of due some health issues. The 2020 Edge is so much easier to enter and sits up higher!

Almost
If you've come from European SUVs (BMW, Mercedes, Audi) you are likely to be a little underwhelmed by the "soft" handling and ride. That said, if you want a fuel efficient everyday hauler, the 2020 Edge will probably work fine for you. The SEL has most everything you need but the seats (while comfortable) could use more side bolster. Lots of room in the backseat for passengers and ample cargo. The protection package came with all weather floor mats for front and back seats but disappointed that I had to purchase a rear cargo mat after market. Fit and finish could be better as I have had dirt/salt find its way through the lower door panels and slightly more road noise than I expected. Infotainment is fairly easy to use and best just to set the temp control to auto instead of trying to find all the touch screen controls for air flow and temp. Have had many SUVs in the past 30 years, first Ford. I wanted to buy locally and looked at Acadia, Traverse, Equinox, Terrain, and redesigned Escape ... no European dealers within hundreds of miles so not a lot of choices. The Edge seemed to have everything I needed and could have found a much better deal on remaining 2019's if I were willing to drive to another dealer out of town. Highlights are large cargo area, smooth transmission and performance from Eco-boost, good gas mileage (30mpg hwy so far), good traction on ice and snow (Pirelli all season tires) and excellent headlights. Low points are some fit and finish issues, bland styling compared to other mid-size SUVs, very annoying snow/ice collection in wheel wells, and more road noise than expected. The Edmunds review is pretty spot on for this vehicle.

Edge ST
I was pleasantly surprised when I took my new 2020 Ford Edge ST on our first family road trip. It rides and handles like a dream. Drove it from NYC up to the Adirondacks - man oh man, she’s smooth as a whistle.

20 months in....
I bought this 2020 model new mar 2021. The car is pretty fast and corners well. As a bonus, my wife and I got to go to a 1 day driving experience in Asheville, NC. Very enjoyable and free with purchase!! The car has never had to be towed in, but..... I've had in the shop about 6 times for warranty repairs. O'brien Ford in Shelbyville, KY has been very responsive regarding these repairs. Repairs: at 600 miles turbo oil line started leaking Never could keep coolant levels up. Finally replaced radiator after almost a year. Drivetrain light kept coming on randomly. This was somehow repaired after the first year. Just had temperature drop to -7 deg F. This caused the windshield wiper motors to fail. Both replaced under warranty. I've owned about 30 cars, some costing around $100..00. Never had the windshield wipers fail before. A pretty OK car if one factors out the 18 hours I've had to sit around at the dealership waiting on repairs.
Good SUV
Purchased in March 2021, I have put about 2,000 miles on the car. This is my 4th Edge, but my first ecoboost engine. This time around I decided to test drive competitors, but decided I still preferred the Edge. I have been pleased with the vehicle. As with the others the strongest points continue to be the very quiet cabin and solid ride. It also straddles my need for a vehicle that I can commute 60 miles a day in but transitions to family duty on the weekends. It’s not too big but there is plenty of storage. That said I am not in love with the engine/transmission pairing versus the V6 six speed. Particularly in town, the transmission can struggle to find the right gear which can impede on the ride quality. I don’t notice any difference on the highway. So far the ecoboost is only doing 1 mpg better than the V6, hopefully that improves. However I am getting used to the transmission and find that my driving habits are changing to accommodate. Overall I continue to recommend the Edge and am satisfied with my purchase. Update October 2021 I have put approx. 7,000 miles on this vehicle. I am getting about 1.2 mpg better than my previous V6 Edge. I get 25.4 mpg which is composed 50% highway and 50% in town miles. High point is still the quiet cabin, and lots of storage (with a small footprint) low point is still the lazy transmission. I would still recommend the vehicle.

Traded My 2017 For 2020
I had a 2017 Titanium model that I absolutely loved. The mileage was getting a little high, so I traded it in for the 2020 version. I think the old one may have been a little more comfortable, but the tech upgrades and better fuel efficiency balances that out easily. I love the new headlight system on the new one and can see much better at night. Glad I made the trade for the 2020.

Exceptional Car with Incredible Handling
We currently own a 2013 Edge Sport which I love, but the steering and overall “feel” of the ‘13 is a bit on the heavy side so my wife isn’t crazy about driving it. We recently test drove the 2020 Edge, and WOW - it’s absolutely amazing the changes and advances Ford has made over the last eight years...where the 2013 drives like a plush riding truck, the 2020 Edge ST drives like a sports car ...the new 2.7 V6 is incredible - this car is FAST with dazzling acceleration, and the suspension is fantastic. We have a cabin in Big Bear California, and the drive up the mountain roads is always fun but challenging...our ‘13 has a bit softer suspension so when taking the hairpin turns I usually have to slow down to 35-40 mph max. to keep the car level, pushing it past that speed creates a bit of body lean...in our new 2020, in pushing the car into these turns at 60 mph and again, WOW - no body lean whatsoever - this change in the handling is so dramatic, it inspires confidence that this new Edge can do anything you ask it to do. As far as longevity - only time will tell, but so far, we LOVE this car! Kudos to Ford for transforming the Edge from a plush, comfortable SUV to a plush, comfortable CROSSOVER that takes advantage of all the new technologies that have become available to the consumer over the last eight years..BTW obe major change: no more INTERNAL WATER PUMP like the 2007-2014 model - a potentially horrible design flaw which all Edge owners are aware of and one of the worst design blunders in automotive history...the new 2.7 V6 has a nice old fashioned bolt on water pump! If you’re in the market for a newer SUV, highly recommend test driving the new Edge!

At 86000 miles engine is done
Purchased a 2020 Edge new..Used it a year putting 86000 miles on it all highway miles..Took it to the dealer to diagnose a coolant leak. The result was the engine is leaking coolant on the head as I was told and needs an engine replaced. Cost i was told 8000 to 9000.Never will touch a Ford suv again. The dealer told me Ford knows about the problem and would replace the motor if I had under 60000 miles.
