Buyer Beware: 2013 Fiat 500 Abarth first year
It stalls often and is disabled on the road. I called Fiat of Denver Service only to discover Fiat won't look at it for over a week, with no loaner cars. I was told only Fiat dealers will work on them now -- not other nearby Chrysler dealerships. It's not like there are any close to home. We had high hopes for Fiat but are sadly as disappointed. Too much fear, uncertainty and doubt to risk considering the brand again. So sadly we can no longer confidently refer or recommend a dangerous Fiat.
Disappointed
I'm so disappointed in my 2013 Fiat 500 POP. We have enjoyed the car for three-years. In the last few months, we noticed a ticking noise on the right side when the car is in motion so we bring it to Fiat of Manhattan for a check-up. I'm told the entire bottom of the car, including all the rims, are bent - as if the car bottomed-out - resulting in a repair cost of ~$3K. I live in NYC, purchased the car from Fiat of Manhattan. 90 percent of my driving takes place in NYC. I try to avoid potholes when possible - which are everywhere on our NY roads - and I've never hit one that made me say, oops, that broke my car. Now, the Fiat is absolutely horrible when it comes to any bumps. They all feel like you're getting hit by a cement truck. But for a three-year old car that hasn't experienced anything other than driving in NY, I'm astounded that the car wasn't built properly to handle what any other car can. So now we're worried that another three-years from now, we'll be doing this all over again because of a faulty, or cheaply made undercarriage. This makes me sad. I want to love my Fiat, but I'm so angry at the manufactures for marketing a car for city living but not backing it up with the framework of a vehicle that can endure city roads. Boo.

Great for delivery drivers
I'm an uber eats driver around the Chicago area, and this car is PERFECT for the city! I can squeeze into parking spaces, even when people park all crooked and in my spot. Parallel parking is a breeze. The car is also pretty good on gas- 29-31 mpg city/highway. I'd give this a 5/5, but I've had some problems. I got it at ~70,000 miles, and around 76,000 my alternator shut down and so my electrical and transmission systems went wack before I could fix it. I've also had to replace the front headlight twice in the past year, not sure what's going on with that. I took a minor hit to the back in a car wash when my car went in reverse without my knowledge, so the shifting is almost too easy. My hatch was pretty sunken in, so prepare for a good amount of damage for any little hit.

Great Fun for the Money
I searched for 6 months for the Fiat 500 Abarth that I wanted and bought it just 2 weeks ago. It is a very well-engineered car and great fun, especially with the 5 speed manual transmission. It is too bad more people didn't discover the fun/value before Fiat stopped importing them to the US. I think it is a great car, fun to drive, and very comfortable. It has a lot of amenities not usually offered in a car of this price range.

2013 A500 lounge automatic/manual six speed.
I particularly liked the fact that the color was yellow, a smoother line than the older model. It was not a 2013. I like that the car itself has all the bells and whistles in the control consoles. I have always thought of the vehicle as a two person car and this does not disappoint, although you can have a third in the back two seater or two children. The fact that I can switch to manual or stay on automatic is good for extra speed on uphill bridges, and for speeding up. I do recommend that you stay on auto. This model has a moon roof, never really use that and actually like the fact it is not a convertible, and I always thought I was a ragtop man. It has air and airbags, and the body is not plastic, a plus. It was second hand and the blogs say service the brakes promptly. It also uses regular, and Shell is probably great, dealer sales says go with the tiger, and Wesco seems compatible too. Defintely European handling, and the braking system is impressive. I have heard the Abarth is speedy acceleration but the start of this model is quick but, yes acceleration is not there but at 105 kph, it picks up quick and can hold 120 kph for a duration, how long needs to be tested still and I hope for at least two hours if not four. I like the car, not for a city speedster, but for two, easy parking in a city, Greater Vancouver, that parking is getting harder to come by, and turning radius excellent.
