Used 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Consumer Reviews
Started with lifters followed by alternator
Best thing I did was trade it in after 8 times at the dealership. It all stared with a rod and two lifters going out followed by the alternator. After the alternator (I think it fried some electronics) the stereo and dash display had to be replaced and reprogrammed more times than I can count. If you buy one find a good service writer because you will be drinking buddies in about 4 months time. I would give the truck 0 stars if possible.

Room for improvement
Great truck with the upgraded engine 5.3L which turned out to be crap and leather bucket seats and advanced trailering . love the Bose system, would be better if GM would let dealers install navigation at their shops . Why did GM discontinue navigation system installs at dealers ? Follow up ; at approximately 6500 mile on the truck had major engine problems - bad lifter, bent push rod so now I have a new truck with a rebuilt motor .

A/C PROBLEMS
We bought our 2021 truck in September 2020. On the first hot week in April 2021, the AC went out on the drivers side. The dealer replaced a sensor covered under warranty. June 21, the AC completely stopped working. I took the truck back to the dealer. Another truck came in with the same problem. After two weeks and flying a technician in to find out the problem. They are replacing the condenser and other things. They do not know if that will work. I will find out next week. I will update.

Lifter failure
DO NOT BUY! Bought brand new Silverado RST 5.3, 8 speed in March 2021. November 7 and 10,136 miles later knocking ticking, rough idle. Diagnosed as lifter failure Bent push rods. Dealer Couldn’t give me a date to have it finished due to part shortage… not to mention 3 other silverados were there for the same reason. I need a truck so long story short they ended up buying my truck back from me and now I own A F150. Always was a GM guy, never again!

2.7 is awesome
I got the custom because I liked the looks, got the 2.7 after much research. Recently got 26 miles per gallon on a 134 mile interstate trip through the mountains of WV, with the low end tourqe of this engine, I don't think it shifted down one time going up the mountains, amazing engine. Let's hope it lasts.

2021 Chevy 6.2 Trail Boss
Have an off road trail boss that has poor air intake. Drive thru less than 8” of water in a main road (not off roading) and water drowned the engine. 2mths old and having to put a new engine in it. They say it’s my fault. I have to Claim with my insurance claim. When old cars are passing me by in the same water level with no issues!!! Quick to sell you, but won’t take the responsibility!!!

Why I wish I stayed with Ford.
After 40,000 miles... Some reasons why I ***hate*** my 2021 Chevy Silverado and wish I would have just stayed with Ford: 1) The Android Auto connection is trash. My phone gets deleted, at random, about once a month. I have to completely re-add everything. 1B.) The ability for the head unit to actually recognize what you're saying is "ok" at best. 2) The dealership had to drill a hole in the wheel well to get one of the trim pieces to secure in, because the holes didn't line up. So, driving at a speed above 55mph resulted in a notable rattling. 3) The random times the remote start doesn't work. 4) You can't fully turn off the adaptive cruise. 5) If you press down on cruise control more than once, the truck hits the breaks. No coasting for higher MPG for you! 6) The mirrors lock up regularly when opening/folding them. 7) Cheap interior. 7A): A dog jumped on the seat and tore a small part of the seat by literally stepping on it. Nothing special. 7B.) A piece of cardboard/wood trim tore part of the dashboard by bumping into it. 7C) A few spots don't line up 8.) Oh, you like resting your arm on the door with your hand on the wheel? Enjoy the way your arm sits with the door ledge between your elbow and funny bone. PS: Your hand goes numb after about 5 minutes like this. 9) Enjoy how touchy the auto up/down for the windows is. 10) Way more demanding maintenance schedule. 11) The interior lights auto-dim during the day. Especially going under darker overpasses. Enjoy the next few minutes without being able to see your speed, the head unit, etc. 12) Nobody carries the oil (AC Delco 0w20 DexosD). Literally...nobody outside a dealership and 1 shop I've found that making the hours there would take quite the effort. 13) Regularly heard that people couldn't hear me when using the truck's microphone. 14) The windshield wipers that came with it lasted a whoping 6 months. Yup... six. 15) Don't want OnStar/SiriusXM? Tough. It'll say they can't connect literally every time you start the vehicle. 15-B.) No, you absolutely can not disable that app.

8 speed trans started shuddering at 3500 miles. Still trying to get my dealer to figure it out.

I’ve owned a bunch of trucks
There are no deals on any vehicles at this time, find a style you like and a dealer you trust, and prepare to pay top dollar, I looked at Toyota, Ford, and Ram before choosing the Chevy Trailboss, I traded my 5month that old gladiator wasn’t a bad truck but I wasn’t overly impressed. I opted for the trailboss Lt with 10spd transmission, the truck is predictable, it’s fairly smooth at hey speeds, but for $54k, I would have liked it to have included leather..come on Gm.. put some pride in the interior. The factory lift gives it a nice stance the exterior styling looks like a truck should, solid and capable. Mpg is 21.5 on the highway and 16-17 mpg city. The audio system is nothing special, but I didn’t buy it to “boom”. The 4x4 system works well, but I wish it had a select “locker”. All and all I’m quite pleased with the interior size, the acceleration, and looks of this truck. Time will tell if this truck is a winner..but first impressions…I think it is
