Buy it ... You'll Love it
I traded in my 1500 LS ext cab, since the rebates were too good to pass up. Chose the Crew Cab since the added room inside was worth the loss outside. Better traction than the Ext Cab with posi, less mileage than the 4.8l, but ok. Great visibility, wonderful standard features, and a few options put this one at the top of the list. POSITRACK is REQUIRED, since all 1500's are like a cow on crutches in the rain. Another A+ for GM, haven't been able to say that much since the 1980's. Very satisfied.
Great Ride
Has been a great experience driving this 4X4 Truck. THe suspension and handling have been superb. The 5.3L engine provides plenty of passing power on the road. I've been getting about 18mi/gallon. I'm 6'6" and what I really enjoy about the interior is the leg and head room. It was made for us large Americans. Try it you'll like it.

Good Truck!
We recently purchased this marvel of a truck...and i love it! Its fast and i got to admit it lookes good too.
One Great Truck
I narrowed my search to the Chevrolet Silverado and Nissan Titan. I chose the Chevrolet because of added standard features the Chevy had over the Titan...engine performance isn't everything Nissan (that's what their dealers want you to believe). Bought this as a family hauler and weekend worker. It has lived up to all its expectations to this point. Love this truck!!!
This Truck Rocks
This truck is the best ive ever driven. Gas gussler but who cares. All motar you don't see that from Ford or Dodge. This is the only real sport truck on the road, and mine is supercharged for 465 horse.
Z71
In shop once for Cruise control (couple other times for bed liner and stuff). Got about 5k on the truck and so far no big problems. Air leaks and squeaks already though, guess it will suck at 50k. A thirty thousand dollar car should be tighter longer.
1500 crew/ls/z-71
bought truck 1 week ago. Vast improvement over x-cab for hauling passengers. Truck averaged 18.1 MPG on computer on 1000 mile trip. No regrets and rebates make the purchase well worth it
fuzzys new ride,2004 SILVERADO
the truck, siverado, ls. rides very well, & feels very solid, & holds the road with excellent traction & maneuverability. the stereo radio with cd sounds great. the engine performance is great,285 hp, for the 4.8 v8, transmission shifts very well, i like the heated rear window & outside, side mirrors, the tilt wheel seems to function very good, the back seat gives good support to the lumbar & lower back, 16" chrome-plated steel wheels with goodyear wranglers. excellent truck for the price, about 26000$ on my first tank of reg. gas, i averaged about 15 mpg, during break-in period, as of right now i have about 400 miles on it, i'm a retired auto worker,
CHEY P/U EXCEEDS EXPECTATIONS
ALTHOUGH I HAVE ONLY OWNED THIS VEHICLE ONE WEEK, i FIND IT IS A PLEASURE TO DRIVE. THE COLOR IS SPORT METALLIC RED. EVERYWHERE I GO I RECEIVE COMPLIMENTS ON THE COLOR, STYLE, LOOKS, ETC. THE RADIO/SOUND SYSTEM IS SUPERB! SO FAR THE TRUCK HAS MET OR EXCEEDED THIS WRITER'S EXPECTATIONS, FOR PERFORMANCE, HANDLING, MILAGE, ETC....ALSO THERE IS CONSIDERABLE LEG ROOM FOR BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGERS, BOTH IN THE FRONT AND REAR SEAT AREA. AS A RESULT SEVERAL FRIENDS ARE NOW CONSIDERING OR ARE IN THE PROCESS OF PURCHASING A SIMILAR CHEVY, OR GM PICK-UP TRUCK. THUS I FEEL THE PROOF IS THE PRODUCT---A USA PRODUCED AND MANUFACTURED TRUCK
Love my Z71 - but poor gas mileage
I have long since been a Chevy man. I love my new '04 Silverado Z71 with the 5300 V8 in all respects except for fuel economy. After several years of driving a Ford truck with poor gas mileage, I expected better fuel economy than 13mpg from my brand new Silverado! I get better mileage in my custom 55 Chevrolet with a 4 barrel carb and 3 speed trans - no overdrive!!
