Worst decision I've ever made.

Bought this vehicle with 2 miles on it, have had several occasions the brakes go out randomly, the electronic navi goes out randomly, and the engine is terrible. i'm now in a battle with the dealership because the engine has [non-permissible content removed] as well as many other customers but they will not waranty my vehicle because i didn't have the oil serviced at the dealership. WORST CAR BUY EVER, and all the Chevy vehicles I've bought this one has definitely made me consider kia or honda the next time i purchase a vehicle. (I've owned an Impala, Camaro, Silverado, Cavalier)

Great looks, performance and comfort... I'm a fan!

I'm impressed with pretty much every aspect of the all-new Malibu. The styling is super appealing, at least in my eyes. I went with the 1LT with the Sun & Wheels package, Driver Confidence package, Leather (with 9-speaker Bose system) package, and the Convenience and Technology package. Let me say, the 1.5L Turbo is surprisingly peppy. And fuel economy is outstanding! I achieved 38.3 mpg over a 50 mile drive. And, in stark contrast to another reviewer here, I'm throughly impressed with the stop/start technology. It's pretty much seamless. And in rush-hour, stop and go traffic I like the fact that I'm not wasting fuel and pumping hydrocarbons! I often drive 200 - 300 miles a day for my job, and I'm not totally fatigued when I get home at night. The new seating w/power lumbar is comfortable and supportive. Oh, an lots and lots of rear seat leg room, unlike the Malibu this replaces! OK... only one downside. Like I said, I drive a lot. And I find I have to fill the tank about every day and a half. I wish the tank was a bit larger, but I guess that would affect the overall fuel economy. Drive it. I think you'll like it.

Best Ride On The Road

2016 Chevrolet Malibu Premier 4dr Sedan (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 8A)

Our 2016 Chevy Malibu Premier is just one amazing vehicle. If one word comes to mind describing our Malibu, it would be the word "dependability." As we approach 56,000 miles, the car just keeps on delivering dependable service day-after-day. While we've replaced the normal things such as tires and batteries, the fact remains that we've not had to have the car in the repair shop for lengthy and expensive repairs. We average 41 MPG on our road trips. The car is quiet and very comfortable. Plus, the Boise audio system is probably the best sound system in any car. Enjoying the Ride!!!

I bought this 2016 Malibu premier used car with only 3K miles, great looking, smooth drive and gas saver with tons of horse power. so far 1 free oil change/tire rotation done by dealer. I really enjoy the mylink. The safety feature like adaptive cruise control, high beam are useful, park assistance is great. Luxury inside with heated/cooled/memory front seats, 10 airbags and big trunk size are fantastic to me and family. update after 6 months with over 10K miles: I have no issue with the car at all, the experience I have now is still great. I really love tons of new features and plenty of power. The combined MPG is pretty constant at ~29. I totally drove over 10K miles in 7 months, everything in the car is very reliable. Update after 12 months with almost 20K miles ** I had problem with moon roof, it did not work to open moon roof and I sent car back to dealership. the root cause was harness. The car is still in warranty and dealership fixed it. Other than the moon roof issue, I don't see any other major mechanical issue. ** I need also mention one thing, because the car is coming with Apple CarPlay, but sometimes the CarPlay did not recognize my iPhone but still charge the phone. I think this is issue from Apple not from car. But I hope dealer or Chevy can update the firmware at the same time. update after 20 month at Dec. 2018 So far so good after the sunroof was repaired by dealership. I did not see any problem with the car, still has plenty of power and gas saver (average is ~30MPG).

Great Commuter car even for tall people (UPDATED)

2016 Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid 4dr Sedan (1.8L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid DD)

2023 UPDATE: car had 98000 miles. It did require a head gasket fix. Fortunately, I had an extended warranty. Shortly after, the hybrid power control module died. Also fixed under warranty. My mechanic kept begging me to get rid of it. I did. I purchased a Ford Mach-e BEV and am very happy. No more 0-60 in five minutes while attempting to get on the freeway. 2020 UPDATE: Car has almost 60000 miles. Still have not needed brakes. Just occasional oil change. ANOTHER UPDATE: Edmunds asked me to do this. Car has almost 50000 miles. No issues. Slight squeek in rear suspension only noticeable when driving electric. TWO YEAR UPDATE: I have yet to take the car into the dealership for anything. All is working. I had a flat a few months ago, and am getting a TPMS code, but that's an issue with my mechanic. EIGHT MONTH UPDATE: Still highly recommend this vehicle. Easy to drive, very quiet and comfortable. I've put on 19,000 trouble-free miles with only one oil change. Averaging 39 MPG of mostly city and combined highway driving. Great feel when driving 90MPH on the open road. Occasionally wish it had a V8 like my Avalanche but then remember that my Avalanche gets 14 MPG. So, I have driven the earlier Malibu cars as rentals. There was nothing fancy about them. Having owned a 2000 Jetta TDI for commuting, I wanted something less cramped, noisy, smelly and with the ability to get 40+ mpg in mostly street driving. I decided between the Malibu, Fusion Energi, Fusion Hybrid, Sonata Plug-in, and Accord Hybrid. Out of all, the Malibu hybrid has the most comfort and room for me (I'm 6'4" and have two 6' tall teenage boys.) After three months and four thousand miles, I can highly recommend this car. It handles great. It is comfortable for long distances, seats four nicely, provides wonderful driving dynamics and has great gas mileage. In spite of it being a hybrid (based on the Volt drivetrain, which is fantastic), it can get out of traffic without a fuss. The engine has great torque and yet still maintains 43 mpg overall. My only complaints are that the trunk is a bit small with the battery pack. I would like to have seen the battery in the floor like the Volt. Also, maybe bring a bigger battery so the car can run on electric a little more. So, far, I've had zero defects and no need for service.
