4 years and going strong

I have now had the Colorado for 4 years and 26,000 miles. I have had no problems with this truck; my complaints are more related to design and engineering. This truck has a lot of little flaws that I believe could have been worked out by engineers with a little attention to details. For example: You can't put down the driver's sun visor without moving the rear view mirror. Then you need to adjust it back. Please! Also, when it's very cold (I'm in Colorado) the windows don't work properly or don't work at all until the interior warms up. Once again, what's all this testing I hear they do to vehicles. There's much more, but too little space.

Fun to Drive!

I really enjoy driving this truck. It sits higher than the S-10 I had previously, and the ride is much smoother. My only disappointment is locally I only average about 14 to 15 mpg. However, I average 22 mpg on the highway. The crew cab's back seat is great, providing comfortable seating for adults! The bed is shorter than my previous truck, but still large enough to haul 4 by 8 sheets of plywood with the tailgate set in the 57 degree position. I also love the locking tailgate, which is a great idea since the tailgate is also removeable.

fter 10,000 miles I performed a fuel economy test. I am getting 17.89 miles per gallon. I have installed a magnaflow exhaust system and am currently performing fuel mileage test after that. I am installing a AEM cold air intake system trying to get 20 to 21 mpg in the city. I love my truck and currently have 11,035 miles on it and no problems

'06 Chevrolet Colorado

After a month of driving the '06 Colorado, I found many poorly installed parts. Mud flaps all uneven. Bed alligned improperly so one side sticks out farther. The seats are flabby, made from cardboard I think. The plastic wheel moldings coming loose so I can see the double sided tape. The tailgate lock will not unlock. The driver's seat has wrinkles in it and is not tight in the seat after only a month of use. I am sure I will find more as time goes on. I like the vehicle, I just wish GM would take more pride in the quality of their work. Maybe your average person would not notice these things, I just expect a new vehicle to be perfect. I do like the 6 cup holders and tool boxes. All 4 doors open wide on the extended cab.

Fun to drive

This is a nice little truck. It has nearly perfect dimensions and there is a balance of performance and fuel economy. When pushed, the engine has a reassuring groan and sounds like a very strong engine. Seating is perfect for four and provides a pleasant ride. Steering is responsive and tight, not loose like the Silverado. At highway speeds the truck is stable and quite with a little more than average wind noise. The A/C is strong and the sound system is only average, the small speakers are taxed when larges amounts of bass are wanted. Driving at night is good on low beam with a nice wide beam. There is plenty of storage inside with a two tier center console (cd's below, small stuff on top)
