Fun to drive but not fun to own
The car is fast and very fun to drive. The large trunk allows me to use it like a truck. Although, my experience with the car has been going down hill since I drove it off the lot. With less than 30k miles it is already making "creaking" noises in the cabin. The radio has already been replaced b/c of failure. I have the 6M tranny and the clutch has already failed (requiring the car to be in the shop for 2 weeks). Immediately after that it went back into the shop for a week for a failed thermostat. This is the last Audi I will purchase. I plan to sell it before the warranty expires.
I think I have ruined myself...
I test drove some other cars this weekend, how will I ever be content to say nothing of happy with anything that doesn't perform like my S4? It does everything a car should. I even get between 26-27 mpg on the highway- which is were I drive it the most. I love the fact that it is exotic without having to try. I have alcantara seating, I get WOW's everyweek! The hardest part about owning this car, is obeying the speed limit. If you can, get one. You will not be disappointed. Oh yeah-- In a couple years, when my warranty is up- CAN YOU SAY 500 HP ! What a great idea !

It Kicks
Amazing car! Extreemly tuneable engine. Not as high performance as an M but much more practicle and accessable.
Extremely Happy Owner (1.5 Years)
I thought I'd contribute this review after 1.5 years of ownership and 17,000 miles. I still love this car. It has been reliable and continues to thrill.
2001 Audi S4
This is a very special and unique car to own. It is a Porsche fighter without a doubt, yet rather stealty and you can bring friends along. It is the biggest German bang for the buck. The cars that are comparable (M3, CLK55, C32) start at $10,000 more and go up rapidly from there. It is quick in a straight line, yet very comfortable and compliant.
