My 2022 Guilia Veloce AWD drives like it's on rails. Quick, quiet, comfortable, driver centric. No maintenance issues in almost 1 year of ownership. The Guilia is a blast to drive whether running errands or on the highway. Before buying a BMW or Audi drive a Guilia. There's a reason the Guilia keeps winning awards for "Best Car"in its class in Europe. Plus, there is the added benefit that if you get one, you will stand out from the crowd because there aren't many on the road. If it was more of a "mass market" brand, (more units sold, more advertising dollars spent) it might get more love from the car critics in the USA (IMO).

Pure fun, and with great "every day" abilities. Few months later- I think the same.

This Car Is Fun To Drive

The highlight of this car is its on-road performance. Good acceleration, especially in dynamic mode, superb balance going through turns, and responsive braking (I don't find it too 'grabby' as some professional reviews have said). I even have grown to like the adaptive cruise control for highway driving because you can dial down the lookahead to a reasonable level. Honestly, I have no criticisms of the driver's experience, and if that is your primary goal this car will make you happy. The interior is comfortable, if a little tight (no room to shift positions). The sport seats are great, cradling you as you carve turns so you don't feel thrown around the cabin. I have taken this car on 4 hour trips and felt comfortable the whole time. The rear seats are tight but the folks I have had riding in it report the comfort level as "fine" (maybe not so good for longer trips). The dual climate control and the other interior features work well, once you figure out the myriad buttons and knobs that control them. The only real problem I have with this car is the infotainment system. It is quirky, and not in a good way. Apparently there is no way to shut off the radio and leave Google Navigation's voice on at the same time - if you want Google directions you have to listen to the radio, and when Navigation's voice comes on it's at half volume so you have to strain to hear it over the road noise. The only way to answer a phone call is through the touch screen itself, no buttons on the steering column, and you'd better be fast because the notification pop up is a little slow to appear and does not stay on screen long. Currently, I don't use it much at all. I cannot really comment on the reliability since I've only owned it for a year, but I've had no problems so far beyond an occasional reboot of the instrument panel once or twice. My sense is that it's certainly no worse than the other luxury compact sedans and probably a little better. In summary, I love this car but I was prioritizing the best driving experience - I think I found it.

A joy to drive

We bought this car after test driving it as it is a complete joy to drive. Beautiful and unique styling, great handling, above average power for cars in it's segment. I highly recommend taking a test drive in the Giulia before buying a BMW 3 series or Audi A4 as you won't be disappointed.

Best driving car in its class!

I have owned a few BMW 3 series and driven Mercedes’ and Audi’s but something about the Giulia stands out. The driver connection is much stronger. As far as reliability goes, which seems to come in question from non-owners, it has not let me down (other than a dead battery once). If you are on the fence I say at least test drive it and compare to make your own judgment. As an added value Alfas customer care team has been great!
