Why Should I Buy a S80

"S80t-6 awd: ember black with tan leather-climate-inscription-media(nav)-blis costing $45,186. Is this a good price in Northern NJ?" I would say that is a very fair price for a 2011, provided that you are not a present or recent Volvo owner and do not qualify for either the purchase or lease loyalty bonuses. However, there are still a good number of 2010 S80s on dealers' lots and you might want to look ... Read More

Hey autoboy19. Unfortunately, in October Volvo pulled the plug on its lease support for 2010 models. Volvo is now providing $5,500 in dealer cash to help dealers unload any remaining 2010 S80s. Car_man Host Prices Paid: Buying & Leasing Experiences Forum

Car_man, Is Volvo still providing lease support for the 2010 Volvo S80s? I know last month they still were. If so, I would like to know the rates for the S80 V8 for 36 and 60 months at 15k miles per year. Thanks

The Volvo web site states the 0% financing comes with a $14 per month per $1000 financed. Is this correct? Is there any chance you can share the details of the finance? (no personal details of course.)

Thank you Car_Man. Wow! That 36% is a real game-changer. I see the V8 listed for approximately $45,000 at the dealership with an MSRP of 55,000. I was hoping to get an additional $2000 off the 45 for being a volvo customer and another $4000 for not using the 0 percent financing (basically leasing it). Is this the 6000 you are referring to? I think there are some other allowances that ... Read More

Hi vancouver83. You never mentioned how long you want to lease for or what mileage allowance you need, so I'm going to have to make some assumptions. Let me know if you want something different. Volvo's current lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a S80 V8 AWD with 15,000 miles per year are .00081 and 38% (ouch), respectively. When negotiating your lease on this car, ... Read More

I have a 04 S80, I have several complaints: 1. Since the beginning, when the car was new, it did not have a good turning radius and since I replace the original tires, the tires rubbed the wheel well. Volvo's solution: To replace "wheel stops". I have paid numerous times (about once every 6 months) since replacing the original tires (Volvo says it is not a warranty item, extended or not) ... Read More

Hi mjalapeno. Volvo did introduce 0% financing for 72 months on the 2010 S80. That's a heck of a deal. Whether this offer is compatible with the loyalty cash is a very good question. I know that the $3,000 loyalty for current S60 owners drops to $1,500 on leases, but I'm not sure about on APR contracts. One would think that the lower cash allowance would be available on finance deals ... Read More

For a 2010 Volvo S80 T6 base w/ 12,000 miles per year for 60 months I have been offered a payment of $519 w/ $0 drive off. This is the GM's car now and has about 1,000 miles on it. What do you think car man? Do you think there might be some more room there? I need to make a decision soon...

I'm considering getting a 2010 S80 AWD T6. How reliable are Volvos these days? The last Volvo I has was a 850R which aside from the low profile tires blowing out every 5,000 miles it was a very reliable car. I'm coming from a BMW 528i that has had its share of problems. Stranded me on the road once and some smaller tire/electronic problems.

Always dreamed of owning a Volvo, never have. My 1991 Taurus Sho is dying (he served me well all these years ...) but I'm short on money. Found the following: 2004 S80 25.T AWD 4-Dr Sedan. One owner purchased 8/2004 on lease. Certified Volvo Pre-Owned, 6-yr (i.e. thru 8/2010)/100K extended warranty. Current Mileage = 45,154. Standard stuff, plus leather seats and power moon roof. There are some very good lease deals on the S60R. Volvo wants to reserve the Dynaudio system for their halo cars. The C70, S80 V8, XC90. The next S60R will probably not debut before 2010 or 2011. 2007 is the last year for the current R.

It was wierd. I normally love Volvo seats, but the ones at least in the '01 S80 that I tested didnt do much for me. I saw that echoed in a review of the S80 as well. I've also driven a C70 coupe and several S60s, loved the seats in both cases. In that case, Toyota was willing to deal, Volvo wasnt. Also, residuals on the S80 are miserable, so I ... Read More
