I had the same problem with car leaking in both, the driver and passenger side, but after 16 visits to the dealer, a letter to the VP of VW of America and a complain with the bbb, they finally took my problem serious and fixed it in the 17th visit. VW Has a leakeage solution for all EOS now. 2007 & 2008 EOS are the ones with the most issues, not ... Read More
I just purchased my 2008 Eos 6 mos ago. I have to be honest, from reading the list of repairs done, at least half of them were unnecessary according to my knowledge of Eos so far. Beyond the top not working, which I've heard a 100 x on this forum, and the battery being replaced, the deal was just taking advantage of previous owner. All of the other things are typical ... Hello, I am trying to figure out if I should purchase this vehicle. I went into my local VW dealer and saw this Eos sitting in the lot and I absolutely loved it. I asked for a carfax report and the maintenance records and I found some interesting things. I am looking at a 2007 VW EOS which is in great condition with a good price to match. My concerns are are the colder temps. in Atlanta during the winter and the "rain leakage" issue. I have also been told that the turbo uses a great deal of oil. Any comments will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
I am convinced now that there's something to the adage, don't buy the first couple of years of a new model ANYTHING. I've seen a lot of complaints on here re: 2007 Eos, I've also seen some ppl saying that they have no problems with theirs. It's risky. I have a 2008 and I have some of the minor quirky problems that people are talking about but thank God nothing major ... Read More
My wife bought a new 2007 eos at 9000 miles we had to replace the stock tires (Pirelli's) $600. plus we were on the road again only to have to replace them at 28000 miles another $600 plus. At 32,000 a new set of piston rings because of masive oil consumption. Once again we are replacing tires at 39,000 miles, now just before anyone says its an alignment problem do'nt go ... Read More
Hi All, I live in Indiana and bought my 2007 EOS in Dec'07. After 1 year, started having water leaks when it rains. My local VW dealer "fixed" it twice by changing the deals, but the problem still exists. It has become worse since the last repair- now there is a rattling noise coming from where the water leaks, probably due to a poor seal. I also have the pool of ... Read More
Did you find a resolution to this issue? I have a 2007 VW EOS and it is doing the same thing. I'm not sure what to do at this point, as the gas tank is empty...and during my prior fill there wasn't a hint at anything being wrong with the door :(
I have a 2007 EOS with 40,000 miles on it and it burns approximately 1 quart of oil per 1,000 miles. I've since learned that VW when manufacturing the cars installed one of the gaskets upside down, which causes severe oil leaks. VW maintains that the loss is within the "industry" standard and will do nothing to fix the problem. VW corporate has a list of all the cars that has ... Read More
I also have a 2007 EOS with 40,000 miles. It is consuming 3 quarts of oil every 3,000 miles and the VW dealership in our area told me that is normal consumption. I asked them to have that written in writing and I was told they couldn't do that. I find that very strange. Will never buy another VW because they don't stand behind what they sell.
your car runs normally. per vw. the hill slip is actually charming. a reminder that for most parts, we have a standard transmission vehicle. it just acts like an automatic on the road. seriously. the 'bucking' is a historic problem due to the wonderful torque provided by the monster power train. check your oil every fuel up and you'll be fine
Just bought a 2007 eos and love the car EXCEPT I'm a couple of problems: 1) when stopped on a hill -- the car slips backwards rather than holding as a normal automatic transmission will 2) when pulling out of a parking space or starting off very slowly the car bucks. I've had VW take a look at it and they say everything is fine... it's just the way the 2.0T ... Read More
I am with you on that. I have a 2007 vw eos and had nothing but issues out of it. My biggest gripe is with the oil consumption. My Eos is using about 2-4 litres between changes as well. Of course, I have asked the dealership if they had mentioned that this is within normal limits before I bought it, I would have passed. I will never waist my money on ... Read More
I totally agree!! I have a 2007 EOS and it's been in the shop many times for leaking roof problems as well as a couple of other issues. Each time it comes out they say it's fixed and then it rains and the water pours in. After about 4 times (and over 30 days) in the shop mine is finally not leaking (at the moment). It's really disappointing for a VW, ... Read More
I own a 2007 vw eos and having the same issue. My eos did not burn any oil until I hit 45k, now it is burning a quart of oil every 1400 miles. I was not charged a fee, they charged VW. Once I contacted the lawyer, via email because he was located in Atlanta, he replied and asked me to send him all of the repair receipts. Once you start getting water leaks or electrical problems with a car, get rid of it. I had a late 2007 EOS from new that had to be returned to the dealer four times in 7 months for water leaks that used to flood the interior of the car. After the third time I threatened that I would not keep the car if it happened again. When it started leaking again ... Read More
I read two posts about people that experienced some odor coming from the vents but I was just curious if anyone else has this problem. We've had the TSB performed twice and the odor still comes back - mostly when the air kicks on either from heating up in the sun or when it goes from the heater to cool air. No one at the local dealership can figure it out ... Read More

I think all VW EOS should be recalled as lemons! I had the seals replaced along with every thing else in the car - it was practically rebuilt. Finally after getting a lemon law attorney VW agreed that it was indeed a lemon and replaced my 2007 with a 2009. Guess what - after having the car one week it wouldn't start. This new car needed a new starter! You better ... Read More
I have a 2007 VW Eos with 59,000 miles. I have serviced it religious but have been consuming about one quart of oil every 1,000 miles for some time. I'm looking at making an offer on a new red 2008 Eos Turbo 6M with heated seats and i-Pod adapter as the only two options. The build date is 07/2007 and CARFAX confirms this VW dealer has had it since 09/2007. Seems to me the dealer should be REALLY wanting to get rid of this car (it's a small town in rural Idaho and winter is coming on soon). What do ... Read More
I've been considering leasing a 2008 EOS but all this leaky talk has me worried. When I mention it to the dealers, they usually tell me the usual - that they haven't heard of anyone having any leak issues or having to lube the seals. I bought my 2007 2.0T in October 2007. Within the first 2 months I experienced a "window isssue". I was pricing an Eos at the CarsDirect website, and in the Audio Options section I saw this: Dynaudio Premium Sound System (DISC) NO LONGER AVAILABLE for factory ordering as of November 4, 2007 Does anyone know if another premium sound package will be offered? I've driven an Eos with the standard sound and wasn't really impressed (bit of a bass freak).
Bought 2007 VW mid summer and I love it! I bought the 3.2 V6 with all the bells and whistles and wow is it zippy! and the fuel ecomony is much better than I expected!! averaging over 25mpg when I'm not driving with a lead foot! I'll be needing to replace my 2002 Cabrio soon. I'm never in a hurry to have a car payment! Hey nmkev. Volkswagen's current lease program for the 2007 Eos, which is a really cool car BTW, is not very good. Its buy rate lease money factor is currently .00305, which is equivalent to an interest rate of around 7.32%. The best way to get a good deal on this model right now is to shop around with a few dealers for the lowest possible selling price and then have the ... Read More
I have a funny feeling this car may start getting rampant bad reports once enough are in the field ... It doesn't matter what brand of car you purchase. Cases in point: ... Read More
I note on the VW web-site that there seems to be a special offer (see below). Now I realize this is a base model and additions are going to affect the overall lease cost. My question is this a fairly good deal. Hard to tell what the "magic" dealer negotiable numbers are. From web-site: 2007 Eos with Manual Transmission* $399/Month 36-Month Lease $2,874.00 Due at Signing (excluding destination, taxes, title, options, ... Read More
Hi jefhack. I'd be happy to give you an idea of what this car's lease program is currently like (great car BTW :)). Volkswagen Credit's current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2007 VW Eos 2.0T with 12,000 miles per year are .00297 and 59%, respectively. The residual value for a lease with only 10,000 miles per year would be 1% higher. ... Read More
Volkswagen's Eos has been awarded one of the "2006 Best of What's New" prizes from Popular Science Magazine. The new stylish convertible apparently captured the fancy of the PopSci editors. In order to be eligible, "a product or technology must represent a significant ... Read More

Ok, now for my question: I read the manual and it recommends treating the rubber seals regularly to minimize the risk ... Read More
IMHO, if the Eos doesn't "rock your world", you probably haven't driven it yet! Personally, mine is creating a stir all over town. Each to his own I suppose. When you buy your new car mbacon, maybe you'll want to share it with others who will actually be nice about it. We know how to do that already. I'm with you houstontxmob!
There's a saying, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder". If EOS doesn't rock your world, then get something else. Hehe, no reason to come here and criticize the car. Especially trying to compare it with a Civic. Oh boy.
"A real looker"? ...Are you kidding me? This thing is almost as boring as the new Civic.

Hi sabba7. The Eos is selling fairly well. As a result, Volkswagen is not providing much in the way of lease support on it right now. good luck with that because for 2007, there is no GTP convertible. Pontiac has discontinued the 3.9l v6 in favor of a more powerful and efficient 3.6l v6 which is also in the Saturn Aura xR.
