    And I'll go ahead and repeat that I think this thread is obsolete since we're on 2010 Nissan GT-R and 2010 Porsche 911 Turbo currently in production. Any future comparisons have nothing to do with the 2009 GT-R or 2008 Turbo, since changes were made to each, and they are different beasts now.

    My local Porsche dealer just contacted me, saying Porsche gave the dealers additional $1000 marketing support. If this were true, it means the marketing support for 2009 is now $9k.

    That's a good deal and accurate in the fact that there are not any 2009's left in California. I leased a 2009 Carrera 2 demo with PDK, memory seats and an MSRP of 86k and change. The leased was based off price of 71k and change with 7,500 drive off and 800 a month. I'm happy. You were lucky to find one that they would still deal on.

    Thanks everyone for your help. I was able to purchase a 2009 911 coupe near invoice minus marketing support. The MSRP on the car is $85,620 and I paid $69k (before tax & license). According to Edmunds.com, the invoice on the car is $77,151. But with $8k of marketing support, I was able to finish the deal.     Tested both, 2009 4s with PDK and 2008 4s stick, endup going with 2008 stick. Was not thrilled with PDK, steering wheel shifters did not impress either, the whole setup felt geeky, 2009 car made a strange hissing noise, went with the real car. I admit sport exhaust was a big factor. After owning it for 3 months I still LOVE the setup.

    i test drove the '09 S with PDK & 08 4S with a short throw shifter. i found the 08 much more satisfying. There's an element of danger and driver involvement that has been removed with the PDK, and that danger is what brings the excitement to the driving my experience.
