Actually there is a CLASS ACTION SUIT against Nissan for 350Z tire feathering, tire roar, suspension and alignment defects for 2003, 2004, and 2005. They say that they fixed it in 2006, but i am here to tell diff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I bought a new 2005 350z that has required me to purchase new tires (and alignment) every year, due to the Feathering. My tires become bald, I lose tire pressure constantly. . .in other words it's been a pain in the butt car. The dealership won't do anything, Nissan refused to admit there was any engineering issues with 2005, said that the 2003-2004 years had the TSB fix, and the 2005 ... Read More

one other note i was online and found a tech forum for nissan, the tech is saying the axle needs to be greased. this what the tech says the repair is for clicking noises in the rear. from what i seen, u need take off the rear axle use a special grease and replace a flange and the hardware to the flange and then put it all back together.

My 2003 (Performance Edition) has the same thing happening I believe. Around 11 to 15 MPH it starts (makes a 'boing' like sound) and keeps going until full stop. Dealer ship was no help but they did observer the same problem. Did you ever figure out a solution?
My anti-locks brakes are engaging on ever stop and it is very annoying. I took it to my dealership and they can't find anything wrong the brakes. The problem will appear for a month or two and then disappear. On all slow stops the anti-lock will engage Anyone have any suggestions - please help?
I own a 2003 350z roadster with black interior. Has anybody noticed small scratchs on the area when you put your hand to close the door or near the radio or near the little flip up door in the middle dash? The interior is black and kinda rubberized( ???). well I got tired of all the scratchs and worn discolored looking areas. I went to walmart and bought flat black rubberized ... Read More
How did you go about getting Nissan to buy back the car through a lemon law? I have a 2003 350Z with 28K miles on it and I'd like them to buy it back due to the ongoing tire problem. I wouldn't mind it if they were a bit more cooperative in getting the problem fixed but I can't accept a time based warranty and not a mileage based warranty for ... Read More
Well it was my motor...they replaced it and I had to pay for it...$385 I think was the total...I have taken it back 2x since ! When you open the door the window is supposed to go down a few inches and then close automatically. Well, apparently the service dept DIDNT do that properly - the window was wobbling and hitting the top of the car frame..I brought it back & ... Read More
Has anyone had service done yet for the Z recall due to the fuel filler hose that may crack and result in fuel leakage and could possibly cause a fire? I received a letter from Nissan HQ a few weeks ago, called my dealer (in NJ) and they don't have the parts yet? They are supposed to replace the fuel filler and vapor hoses. This is my second recall on my ... Read More
Interesting in that I see that Carmax has changed it's marketing method. They always listed the KBB value and then their "no haggle price" was a bit less. I see that they are not always listing the KBB value. I guess they have gotten so big that they can get way with just listing the price. Interesting that they do that on some and others they list the KBB value - ... Read More
#1, ask him if Nissan fixed the feather issue and take a look at the wear on his tires. The stock tires are Potenza RE40's. If those are not on there ask him why. #2,If you have never driven a 350Z, Don't test drive his until you have done your homework. Trust me - if you drive it, you will lose all objectivetity and say to yourself "I rally want this ... Read More
My 2003 Track Z has had multiple alignments in the past year by Nissan and the rear alignment has always been slightly off. I got 32,000 miles out of my first set of OEM rear tires and the Pole position S03's that replaced them are worn unevenly in the center after 14,000 miles, even though they have been run at the Manufacturers 35PSI. I am on my third set of front ... Read More
I own a 2003 350z with 14,800 miles at this time.Nissan replaced my tires at 11,000 miles with the new potenza's.So far so good but I'm not sure this is a permanent fix, only time will tell. Therefore I would like to know what attorney you are using.
The dealer has to be part of the purchase decision. As far as this product (350Z Touring, automatic) goes it is excellent. I have had no problem with the Z. I do run Michelin pilot tires. I have 89k on my 2003 and have had no problems. Just had brake pads replaced and they turned the rotors, and 83k on my Volvo they replace the rotors. I've had many Nissans and ... Read More
Cars are very complex devices and will probably experience problems. We all live with that fact. However the manner in which these problems are corrected is the determining factor. There is a action suit in progress against Nissan because of the manner in which they addressed the suspension problems. How many other automakers have had class action lawsuits filed against them. Take a look at the NHTSA web site- No other ... Read More

I've also got the 350Z front end problems. In fact I'm going to the dealer tomorrow for them to check and see if I qualify for a SECOND set of new tires for my 2003. Good to hear they have extended the warranty another year for 2003 Z owners as well as the 2004, it was initiall 2 years. Do you know the Nissan TSB number for this announcement? Myself and MANY hundreds of other 350Z owners are suffering from some type of design flaw in the suspension. The tires are cupping and scalloping in a “heal-toe” wear pattern, which according to Firestone dealers “is an unsafe” situation and should be corrected. I have this same problem with my 2004 Z. The local dealership replaced my front tires at 9,000 miles and now at 18,000 I'm hearing the same grinding noise with my tires as before. Nissan says that my car is beyond the 12 month/12,000 mile warranty and this problem with my ... Read More
I might need some help. I purchased my 2004 350 Touring Z in 02/04. I already have 25K miles on it. So, thinking it was the brakes, I had them checked. The Nissan dealer told me nothing was wrong with my brakes. ... Read More
I did all my research before buying my 2004 350Z last August. At 12500 miles I started getting all the descriptions of the 2003 tire feathering problem. I called Nissan and now they are telling me the same ... Read More
Was your fathers 350Z a 2004 model? My dealer checked out my tires on my 2004 Z and said there was nothing they could do for me. They are only taking care of the 2003 models. My dealer reimbursed me for the second set of tires after I contacted the regional office. I discoverd Nissan extended all 2003 350Z front-wheel alignment warranties for 2 years from in-service date which includes tires, not the 2004s. They were unable to tell me what happens after expiration, Nissan has not informed them. They are working on it. Don't buy a 2005 350Z folks, until you know for sure if the ... Read More

They sold just under 20,000 units in 2003 according to your link. YTD sales are down 14.2% through June. The good news for Nissan is the last time I checked their site they were down 17.5% (through April sales) so maybe there's some upward momentum but its hard to see how they will reach 20,000 units in 2004, much less 35,000. I am seriously considering purchasing a 2003 or 2004 350Z. I would love to get information from current owners on any problems or issues they have had with the car.
The pricing of 350Z, like all cars, is a local thing. A good price in Southern California may not be a good price in DC. Spend a day or two visiting the local Nissan dealers and you'll know very soon what 350Zs are going for in your area. No reason to wait for anyone to talk to his manager unless that's the only Nissan dealership within 50 miles. MSRP on a ... Read More
I am not sure where you are located, but 350Z's are going for a lot less than MSRP in the Washington DC area and have been for at least a few months. I would say that your offer of $1,000 over invoice for a "leftover" 2003 is very fair. If they think they can sell a 2003 for close to sticker, God bless them. Also, I do not believe there is ... I noticed that Edmunds.com has put up some prices and info on the 2003 350Z. They show list prices in line with the Nissan web site. The TMV (true market value) is listed at $1,800.00 over. ..am not not quite sure what Yukawa means by "more mature" handling than an S2000. It seems to me like Nissan has sent a couple of mixed messages regarding their intent relative to the new "Z".
