  Can anyone give me some insight on a 2005 or 2006 GX 470? I am contemplating buying a used one with about 25,000 miles. Just wanted to know what kind of maintenance and problems owners have experienced. Thanks.

  WOW! That is all I can say. That does not sound good at all. It really scares me to think that has happened to an almost brand new Lexus. Have you ever had a any other problems with your other Lexus'? Have you always bought from the same dealership?

  Mine was under warranty when I finally brought it in for service. Our 2005 grinded when closing after about a year of use. As we are more likely to pop it, rather than fully open it, I delayed the service until this summer. Apparently there is a tremendous amount of labor involved to expose the motor and wiring.   There were a lot of messages relating to your problem on this site. But I can not find it. There were several years worth of info there. I would speculate that someone from Lexus probably had enough and purged it all. The site manager has even changed.   I'm in the same boat... this seems like a great time to get a good deal on a 2005, but then it starts off with a year of depreciation soon after you drive it home.
