  I am literally having the EXACT same issue with the reverse stall/dying thing. My service, ABS, and trac off lights are also on (and off sometimes??) Have you figured anything out, or gotten any helpful advice -- because I would LOVE to know!! :) Thank you thank you!

  Yesterday the speedometer on my 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier (with less than 20,000 miles) started reading much higher than my actual speed. The odometer and other gages continued to read normally. All day the readings got higher and eventually went over 110 mph even when setting still. Now it fluctuates between 75 mph and over 110 mph, mostly reading over 110 mph. What is most likely to be the problem ?

  I have a 2005 Chevy Cavalier and just recently when i turn the heater on get the smell of gas through the vents. I have not seen a loss of fuel or anything in that nature. I have 41,000 miles and just got an oil change. Any Ideas?

  Not sure if you have fixed this already..but my guess is the head gasket is gone. Common issue with the cavalier. Fill the coolant tank and check the hoses. If no leak with engine off. Check with engine running. No leak...check your oil...does it still look like oil or is their any discolouration...ie is it grey. If so...head gasket and its mixing coolant with the oil.   You mean it spurts out through the overflow tank, or it just "disappears" and you can't see where, or it leaks and you can see it leaking, or ?????

  The reason the Cavalier is not listed is because Chevy is already showing the 2006 model year. 2005 is the last year for the Cavalier.

  the cavalier is due to be replaced by the chevy cobalt for the 2005 model year. styling aside, the cavalier is rather crude compared to most of the competition and the cobalt promises to be a major improvement over the cavalier.
