From the CX-7's transaxle to the rear the driveline is an EXACT duplicate of the Ford Escape, Edge, etc. That is incorrect. First, the Escape is 4WD, not AWD. Second, the Edge uses Ford's in-house built AWD system, similar to a Haldex FWD based AWD system. Mazda uses their own Active Torque-Split AWD, which is also a FWD based AWD system.
