Used 2021 Volkswagen Golf GTI Consumer Reviews
Fun and sporty car, stalling concerns
The GTI is one of the most fun cars in the segment saturated with sporty compact and hatchback models. Excellent engine and both transmission options are fantastic. The one concerning element though is a growing problem with the 2019 GTI models stalling. 150+ NHTSA complaints filed to date and lots of forum discussion around the problem. As of July still no fix and VW has started to buy back some affected models. If the problem is fixed the car will become a fantastic offering, but with it looming overhead there are long term ownership concerns.

Fantastic car
I will be driving this car for the next ten years. It has incredible power for a small car, is extremely agile and makes driving a blast! I cannot express the degree to which I am satified with this vehicle.

Great in Almost Every Way
Great performance, very responsive, comfortable, full feature, very good gas mileage. But the electronics take some learning, especially after being accustomed to my previous car's setup. VW does have some helpful videos on line. I was disappointed to find only one USB port. It was a lease, but I liked it so much that I decided to buy it. My impression of the car hasn't changed after 2 years using it. Top notch in every respect.

Now I’m an owner of a new 2019 GTI SE Experience
Everything I expected, and more. Highway MPG 31.3 right from the start. Miles and miles of nothing but smiles. 72 mo./72K mile warranty is why I bought a 2019 vs. a 2020. Killer handling and acceleration. Not a single quibble! 02-11-21 Update. Recent road trip MPG - 38 on 4 lane highway at 65 mph. 44 MPG on two lane country highways at 55 MPH. Update 08-11-21: This car continues to amaze me. Zero problems with the car. Overall miles driven is now 12,300 with average mileage since new of 31.6. Turned Soundaktor to lowest setting so I can hear the natural exhaust note.
