2025 Toyota Tundra
Lots of mixed reviews out there for this 3rd gen, so I was hesitant to pull the trigger. It seems like people are either really happy or really upset with the newest generation. I came from a 2014 F150, then a 2021 Nissan Titan and now a 2025 Tundra Limited. I'm impressed with the power and the drivetrain, and build quality seems to be on par for a Toyota. I had so many issues with my … Titan I couldn't wait to get rid of it and my F150 nagged me to death with issues as well.
Pros: Steering and handling are pretty good (I have the TRD Off Road package, not sure if that makes a difference in ride quality). It's fast when you want it to be. Highway fuel economy is pretty good. Engine is plenty powerful and transmission is buttery smooth so far. Stereo seems quality and infotainment gets the job done, I like the larger screen. Seats are comfortable. Cabin is pretty quiet even at highway speeds- I want to note I did test drive another '25 that had the dreaded driver door seal wind noise- the one I purchased didn't have it. Pretty heavy discounts being offered in current truck market.
Cons- City fuel economy is pretty bad, but "it's a truck"... :) The auto start/stop feature drove me absolutely bonkers so I bought a $17 plug and play device on amazon that disables it from startup, but still allows me to use it when I want to. The door panel flexes a bit when pulling the door shut, but I don't think this is unique to a tundra, just something to note. The metal in the center of the top of the hood is very thin, so at highway speeds you can see it flex some... my titan also did this, so again, not something unique to a tundra, but may annoy some of you.
Overall I love it so far, and would recommend to anyone. If you're thinking about it but find yourself hesitant, get the extended warranty for peace of mind. Definitely recommend doing an extended test drive with the radio off, and at high speeds to see if the unit you're driving has any bugs. I believe most of them are worked out on the 25's anyways, which is why I waited. Always been a Toyota fan and hoping this tundra doesn't let me down. Will update down the line once I get more mileage on her. Love it!
