2022 Ford Escape Plug-In Hybrid
Owned the car for 4 months averaging 500 miles per month. Most driving consists of daily trips of less than 30 miles. Haven't filled up the tank yet, and it looks like I'm burning gas at a rate of about 1 gal/month. Have no complaints about the vehicles performance esp. like adaptive cruise and lane keeping options. They help me keep a safe distance from cars ahead of me and in my own … lane. The interior is very comfortable with more than ample head and leg room. Even in the back seat! With the battery weight helping to keep the center of gravity low, he car's handling features are better than my old (2004) Subaru Outback Sport. For longer trips we like to keep off interstate highways and on more rural roads that are less likely to have charging stations. So until the EV infrastructure is in place for rural areas, the plug in hybrid offers the best of both worlds - all electric around town and hybrid mode for longer trips. Finally the Ford Escape's battery range is much greater than most other PHEVs (other than the Toyota RAV4 Prime). Oh, and I forgot to mention the $6,500 tax rebate.
