BUY WITH CAUTION!

2016 BMW 3 Series eDrive
Bought car with about 40k miles. Car was a good commuter for me for 3 years, driving it about 80 mi during weekdays. Plugged it up at home, at work, overall great gas mileage. Very well kept, serviced ahead of schedule and all at local BMW dealer. As I come across 70k miles car starts to show signs of weakening e-drive. Took it to dealer, was told it was just software needing update … and aux battery needing replacement. Got it replaced and updated. Took it home, notice that didn't do much improvement to overall e-drive range. Thought nothing of it, kept driving it. About 10k miles later, car doesn't get any better, now starts to act up when charging. "unable to charge - grid power too low" warning light on dashboard. Take it in for service, told aux battery again was drained, repaired (warranty due to aux batt replacement less than 10k miles ago), software updated again. I immediately asked service advisor to ensure this was the issue because unfortunately this was already replace not long ago and I continue to have issues. I paid for duper diagnostics of EV system and turns out KLE converter had "internal faults," was advised to replace it ($4500). Declined to replace, took it to secondary BMW local specialist, was told that no KLE faults are present, but Heater Flow faults, AC compressor failure faults, irregular idle faults and other High Voltage System faults showing up on computer diagnostics. No one seems to quite understand the root of the issue, the car has had over $6000 in repairs and the car is in worse condition now than it has ever been. BMW failed to provide any assistance to rectify the issue and they clearly stated to me that not unless I'm considered a "VIP" or a loyal BMW customer (essentially rich and have bought multiple BMW products) they are unwilling to provide me any assistance and I'm on my own. If you plan to buy one of these, I'd recommend you just simply do a Google search "KLE issues with BMW" so you can see how many complaints there are not only with the 330e but with the i3 as well in which they won a class action lawsuit.
