Test Driver Ratings & Comments

Acceleration commentsLaunches in a traditional front-wheel-drive way with generous wheelspin up to about 30 mph. Shift action is long but light and precise. Clutch pedal could stand a more positive engagement feel. Engine feels as if torque is the priority rather than horsepower, as it lies down a bit near redline.
Braking ratingGood
Braking commentsBrakes engage a little abruptly (little idle stroke) but are otherwise intuitive. On full-ABS stops there's some forward pitch, but it feels well-damped. Good fade resistance and pedal never went soft. Little to no ABS hum or vibration.
Handling ratingVery Good
Handling commentsSkid pad: Mild understeer while the rear of the car begins to slide slightly. Excellent balance and steering feels a little disconnected but loads up well. With stability control on, the brakes attempt to eliminate understeer first; then the throttle begins closing -- but it works quite well. Slalom: With stability control off, the chassis requires some time to transfer weight, but when it does, the car rotates usefully. It takes a few passes to learn to predict this, but it works. Plus, there's so much mechanical grip despite the body roll. Clever tuning overall with grip and compliance. With stability control on, it snubs the oversteer to make it more compliant.
