Used 2003 Saturn ION Consumer Reviews
Love this car
This car has been a great investment. I love the way it drives, including a tight turning radius and surprising pickup. Wouldn't hesitate at all to buy this one all over again. Too bad Saturn is history.
3 days with ION
The ION is frisky and fun to drive. The ride is very composed---even at 80 mph. I achieved 30 mpg on my first tank of gas (half were highway miles). I was initially put off by the interior, particularly the center mounted instrument panel. It took me about 5 minutes to get used to it. I visited the Syracuse Auto Show yesterday and sat in a lot of cars. I was struck by the fact that I found myself thinking over and over again: This cars instrument panel is really strange. It is hidden behind the steering wheel. I actually find myself preferring the center mounted instrument panel. It gives you a clear view and is kind of funky.
Saturn Rocks!
I bought my car on December 23rd, 2002 at the Saturn of Birmingham AL dealership. The folks were freindly, and very helpful. It had 8 miles on it when i drove it off the lot. As of today, February 9th, 2003, it has 2400 miles on it. I drive my car everywhere!!! So far... this car is awesome! I would reccomend it to anyone and everyone. I find it to be very trendy, sporty, and it drives very nice and smooth. Plus- it is very spacious.
Great Improvement
Ion 1 is a fantastic improvement over SL, especially with peppy 2.2L DOHC engine, finally 5A option, and fun CD player. Love electric power steering, and A/C doesn't drag car's performance down like old SL. Nothing but rave reviews from everyone so far.
Bang for the Buck
We just bought a new ION to replace the my daughter's SL1. (the SL1 provided 48,000 miles of economical and maintenance free driving). The ION has nice design; the composite panels are the best choice for a vehicle that will be parked streetside; and Saturn's economical performance is hard to beat. We were pleasantly surprised with the quiet and smooth ride performance of the ION. At 70 mph is almost comparable to my 2002 A4. The added HP and torque makes the ION a well-rounded vehicle for fun, comfort and economy. I have to question the professional reviews I've read as being biased and under-rating of the Saturn.
