Purchased this truck in February 2023. It only had 30 miles. It Regens every 100 miles, regardless of if we are pulling our 5th wheel or not. At 2,000 miles the instrument panel said Deisel Particulate Filter is full take to the dealership. Took to the shop and they had it for 3 weeks and had to replace the Deisel Particulate Filter, after which the truck did not run as smoothly as it had before. We took it two different dealerships and they ran updates on the computer, but it was never quite right. Move forward to August 2024, we now have 28,000 miles on the truck and are stuck in Cody, Wy, waiting on another Deisel Particulate Filter because ours is full, again. Keep in mind we do not let our truck idle the way most Deisel truck owners we see in the RV parks. We turn it off even when we are stuck in traffic. We arrived at this RV park on August 11th, took the truck to dealership on August 12th. The part was ordered on August 13th and we asked for them to expedite, but currently the part is scheduled to arrive from Detroit on September 3rd. That is unacceptable. We are from Texas and are stranded in Cody, Wy(nice place to be stranded) but we need to get back home. When we do get home, this truck is being traded in.

2024 Ram Electric Problems

Missing Ford Trucks , 08/19/2024

NEW TRUCK! Drove it off the lot and it had 19 miles on it. When it had 6,000 miles, everything electrical went out. Power Window, Radio, Air Conditioning, etc. Brought it into the shop. Was initially told rodents ate the wiring. 8 days later when they actually checked it, they found out the wires were OK. So they started questioning me on what aftermarket stuff I installed. I did not install anything. 3 days later I got the truck back and was told they don't know what happened but they reloaded all the software and everything is working. They did not figure out what caused it. And they told me it could happen again. Well, 2,000 miles later it happened again. And again it is in the shop to get fixed. 9,000 miles total and has been in the shop 2 times because of a faulty system. Waiting to find out what is going on. I switched from Ford to Dodge because Dodge new trucks were cheaper. Now I know why

22 6.4 Hemi 18 months 18K miles

I tow a 7K loaded trailer with about an 850 tongue weight. I have right at 17K miles in 18 months with 50% towing. I did NOT want a diesel but the 1500 I had was essentially anemic towing. So, my 22 Laramie does the job along with light off roading and transfer station home projects duty. I do wish they would expand the cab like they did with the 1500 but for power and towing FOR MY NEEDS, this is perfect. AND, the gas mpg's are not that much different than the 1500 particularly towing mpg's. No issues so far. I have the Billet Silver, got it because it came on the 1500 but after having it, it is really nice and got it on the 2500 after a long string of white trucks and cars. My wife's cherokee has the Granite black something or other and looks beautiful for 15 minutes after a wash then...not so much. The silver looks good all the time pretty much. It tows the weight of my trailer like a dream. I have 3K payload and 15K max tow. I get 8.2 mpg at about 70mph towing, 15-17 on the highway. It loves the highway, hates city driving. That is improved with new KO2's over the 7.8 I got with the OEM Firestone Transforce tires towing on the same route one year apart 1500 mile trip from Helena MT to Custer SD and driving around. The 1500 was in the same ballpark at around 8mpg towing. Things I like...are stability while towing, truck is always in charge. interior (bucket seats) console is very nice. I have the 8.4 screen as I prefer it but am mixed on the new Uconnect. The old one was good enough, but love the off road screens for the 4X4 package. I have the Snow chief package with the bigger alternator and really love the auxilliary switches for the after market spots in front. I live in Deer Country they are a savior...well along with the after market front Fab Four Matrix front bumper and rough country rear... Things I don't like. It's a beast, not made to be a daily driver... Fortunately I have a Renegade for that. MPG in general for trucks. They should put the bed step on them as OEM for all of the HD's. I put one on after (Amazon/OEM knock off) and it cost me only 275 bucks and 30 minutes. I know with your economies of scale, you can do a whole lot better. Just put it on Ram... And I'm glad I bought when I did, MSRP has gone up almost 10K since on an almost identical build... But I'm starting to see big incentives again so they are going back toward what I paid in Feb 2022 but you are not getting the interest rates I got 4 sure.

Continue issues with the 12" entertainment system that controls several features in the truck. Since the second week of ownership the system has shut down. Dealer keeps telling me they can't replicate the issue. Chrysler is aware of the issue with the 2022 Ram 2500 and Durango's. But all they can do is complete an update. Now I'm receiving injector engine light.

It simply works. It’s reliable, comfortable and the Hemi takes care of all of my towing needs. The downside? Being a 2500 Mega Cab sometimes parking in tight spots can be a bear, but I knew this before the purchase. In my first year of ownership I’ve driven about 30,000 miles. One of my best vehicle purchases.

To much money to little truck

I purchased a RAM 2500 Limited. First of all it has the RAM Air suspension and rides very rough, it bounces on every street line. Second the seats are hard as a rock. Third, the back up sensors pick up the receiver hitch and so the truck will not back up with the hitch in.... guess RAM does not want you pulling a trailer. Forth, you can not put a tool box in the truck unless you want a 12" tool box, the finder wells are to close to the cab. I hate this truck

8 months in, 13k miles, great truck. No issues at all. Able to achieve 18mpg on highway road trip otherwise 13-14 in town. Tows our 37 foot bumper pull travel trailer no issues. Love the looks, doesn't have "brackets" around the headlights like other brands.🙄 I would buy this truck again, quality is excellent.

Own a hvac biz. Started with an 04 chevy 2500, traded for a new 2014 ram 2500, cheapest one you can get with the chrome package. I beat the snot outa that thing and had to put a rear u-joint in at 70k. Traded for a 2019, again, cheapest thing i could get with chrome package. Bout to hit 50k and not a blip so far. These things haul ass, 100mph @ 2500rpm and will run that chevy over while dragging a house. Rides alil stiff, but a 2500 should. Handles like a corvette. The bodies are paper thin so easily dinged but worst complaint is having to slam the door sometimes rwice to close it. My friends gmc closes with just a light push and click. I have zero use for 100 buttons and a big screen tv on the dash so dont have the petty issues others have.

Got my 2500 Laramie less than a year ago. Really love the quality of it and the looks. When I purchased it, it had the best interior out of Ford and Chevy, which was important to me. Bummed out that during the production year I got it, due to the chip shortage they downgraded some packages, although mine has the tow group, it did not come with blind spot monitoring. Which is pretty standard on most trucks now a days. Gas mileage is really low, I knew that going in but I didn’t think it would be so low.. at around 12mpg in city/highway. I do have the 4:10 gears so a factor in this mpg. I love the truck either way, so far so good!

I got the diesel truck itch in the fall of 2020 and my 2015 Platinum F150 was getting a little long in the tooth for my liking so I decided a Ram 2500 would fit the bill. I began my search and found the exact truck I wanted but it was 675 miles away. In December of 2020 trucks were still relatively affordable, at least much more than nowadays! I flew one-way to Dallas to pick up my truck and was blown away when I saw it in person! This Laramie Longhorn Mega cab was drop dead gorgeous, probably the nicest truck I'd ever laid eyes on and I've had plenty of high end trucks. I drove this beauty for a year and a half, trouble free but then just shy of 30K on the odometer, I started getting all kinds of electronic codes and malfunctions. I took it in and on the way to the dealership it went into limp mode. The dealer told me it was throwing about 16 codes so they would need to keep it for a few days. Turns out it needed a new transmission in addition to several electronic fixes. I was stunned because I never towed anything other than a 10' landscape trailer twice! The dealer gave me a loaner and 45 days later my truck had a new transmission! I traded it immediately! In the end, this beautiful truck with a bullet proof Cummins diesel engine had the cursed Dodge transmission that has plagued so many others! For the life of me, I can't understand why they can't make a transmission last longer than 30k miles! This is a well know issue with Ram 2500 trucks and it never gets fixed! Ram trucks are arguably the finest looking and nicest riding 2500 out there but their reliability will always be questionable! Never again unless they sign a deal with Allison!
