Great Mechanically - Fair Build Quality
Car has been decent. Always starts. Runs smooth. Great engine and transmission. No major fixes out of warranty (almost 20,000 miles ago). Leather is a little below par, and dashboard is a little separated from one vent. I am satisified with purchase. Dealer was terrible, terrible, terrible. Stay away from Rohrman dealerships is Chicago.
My experience with the Olds Intrigue
THE GOOD: This car has excellent bang for the buck. Esp. the GX model, which can be had for pennies. Even as the base model, you get a plenty of options. Mine has a moonroof, keyless entry, power seat, and that beautiful 3.5L DOHC. This car was made for the interstate. Passing is not only acceptable, but enjoyable. The instrument panel is attractive and gives a good amount of vitals about the car. Seats are comfortable yet supportive. Handling is great THE BAD Fit and finish could have been better (crooked panels, interior and exterior) Brakes need to be replaced prematurely (damn GM accountants) minor annoying glitches like headlight flicker and intermittent power windows.

Decent, Fun car
I bought my '99 GL with 33,000 miles a year and a half ago. It now has 62,000 miles. I replaced the original tires at 59,000, and the front brakes at 55,000. This car is fun to drive with the 3.5L, very reponsive, handles beautifully. The only problem I've had is the voltage regulator. The headlights and accessories (fan) dim/slowdown slightly and repeatedly (more noticeably during cold weather). Dealer told me it had been a problem but GM didn't consider it a recall issue. I can drive as is or pay $400 for a redesigned unit.
This Car Has Given Me Lots Of Problems
I've had this car since a year ago and when I bought it for $2,000. I thought I was getting a steal. Until I drove it al ot and gave it a good test run. Since I've had it I've had too fix the power steering, the timing belt, crankshaft, and the starter. Now I am currently taking it into the shop to get it looked at because yesterday it just died as I was going down the road and when it happened I lost all of my acceleration and it slowly died in the parking lot, now when I try to start it it sound like the starter is spinning but it's just not catching. This car is great! But it also comes with its grief and you'll spend a good amount of money on it.
An Oxymoron in Car Form
The "Intrigue" is the most inconspicuous car ever made, especially in dark green like mine. The car is decent and I like it quite a lot, the resale value is horrible, but I bought it used (no option for a new now, is there?) so that's okay.
