Do Not Buy Gas Guzzler
I don’t even know where to start. Except this 4 cylinder car is a Gas Guzzler. It uses up gas like it was an 8 cylinder car. I drive only in the city locally and work from home. I’ve been filling the tank every 3 1/2 days in California. I was told I would get 20-25 miles per gallon. I’m only getting 12-14 miles per gallon. I was mislead by the salesman and manager of Land Rover Southbay. This the worst car I ever leased. Thank god it’s a lease. I have been trying everything to return the car but have gotten No where with the dealership and manufacturer. Also the air conditioner in this car is bad. It does not have enough vents that my passengers in the back seat complain about lack of cool air. The cup holders are made too small and tight. I’m always afraid my morning coffee from the coffee Starbucks is going spill as I have trouble getting it out of the cup holder due to how tight it is. The car seats are very stiff and as comfortable as other cars I have leased. The voice command in the car only works when it wants too. I could be driving a luxury car instead of this Money Pit.

This land rover is cheaply made.
This land rover is very cheaply made. From the trim to the seals it's just falling apart as I go down the road and we've only gone 5,000 miles. We are very dissatisfied with out first time buyers but will sell as soon as I can get out from under it and never buy again.

Unreliable
I little under a year this 2023 Discovery needed to have the water pump replaced I was disappointed. I live 3 hours away from a local dealership for me this vehicle was not reliable. The service personnel stated that they have seen just about every Discovery that needs the water pump replaced under a year old

No Regrets
I am a person who does not like to drive the same can everyone else has. I owned 6 Saabs and loved them. Though I will admit that there likely was better vehicles. I once owned a Land Rover LR2. It was mostly driven by my wife. We loved it. It had a couple problems that were corrected promptly by the dealer. I read Edmunds (only one 2023 review) and other reviews before I bought the 2023 Discovery Sport. Many were not very flattering. However, I thought I would take a chance since I did not need a large SUV and it seemed to have a little more cargo space and utility versus a comparable Mercedes or BMW X3. Which by the way are excellent cars. I am happy to say that after 3 months and 3000 miles not one problem. I am pleased with this surprise. There are only a couple negatives. The various driver aids are extremely functional and even more than I expected. However, they are anything but intuitive despite having owned many cars with similar features. Time has overcome this. The gas mileage is not very good for a small SUV. But this was known before I bought it. I get about 18.5 mpg around town and almost 25 on highway driving. This compares to a larger Subaru Outback (2022 Touring XT) that my wife mostly drives where we get 22 in town and 34 on the highway. The Outback is also a 4 cylinder and is about the same horsepower as the Discovery Sport. A nice positive is that this is the first vehicle I have had in recent years where there is almost no turbo lag.

Lease is Over...Think I'll Keep It
With my lease ending, I was intending to turn my Disco in and buy a Macan S, but after test driving a few there just isn't enough there to make it worth the money. I really expected the S to have a noticeable power advantage, but it just wasn't there. The Disco has been a solid car for me, and the dynamic 286hp version is every bit as fun to drive as the Macan.
