Niro Fills a Gap in US Market

2022 Kia Niro Plug-In Hybrid EX Premium 4dr SUV (1.6L 4cyl gas/electric plug-in hybrid 6AM)

In our opinion the Niro PHEV stands alone in the US market with practical efficiency. Room to seat 4 tall adults, 5 if needed, while achieving remarkable hybrid efficiency, and even EV solo abilities for around-town errands at even higher efficiency. Our son, who lives in the UK, bought one of these and we drove it over a 5 week period and found it checked all the right boxes for us. We looked into getting one for ourselves back home in the US, and our only complaint is the US market does appreciate a comfortable, gas sipping, small cross-over - leading to a problem with availability. We did find a tricked out 2019 that was very nice, but no new cars on the lots in town. The new 2023 has some features which improve the offering - larger, more EV range and power, but these are not available here. If it was, we would pounce on it.
