Hybrid Broke Down After 4 Days.
Bought a 2021 Sonata Hybrid and after only 4 days, it broke down. Returned to the dealer and got a '21 Sonata SEL Plus with the 1.6T engine. Pros: - technology in this car is fantastic. - NO CVT - Great driving position for me Cons: - 1.6T Turbo and/or gearbox has severe lag. Hit the accelerator and wait 1-2 secs for a response. Driving around town was jerky. - 8 speed auto is always fumbling around looking for the right gear. - Seats are heat magnets After 2 months of choppy driving I traded the Sonata for a Mazda 6 and glad I did.

2021 Sonata hybrid limited issues
After owning a 2012 sonata hybrid. My wife decided she missed hers. So we bought a 2021. While we love most things about the car. Here are the issues we’ve had. 1) noise in the front right side like a break dragging etc. (1) dealership said it was dust on the breaks and needed the brakes cleaned. Now it’s been 30 years since I was in auto mechanics. But I’ve never heard of a car needing brake dust cleaned off the rotors. Especially at 20k Miles. Also not covered by warranty. 2) The radio navigation system locked up 1 hour into a 6 hour drive. After I tried using voice calling on the car. After researching. The only way to fix it was shutting it off for several hours. 3) after having the brakes looked at. My wife went on a 5 hour trip. After returning home. We found that the under cover had came loose. Note she didn’t hit anything. But it also caused the wheel well cover to come loose.(3) Well those don’t just come loose. Ok give me a quote $600. 4) the navigation system Would say Unavailable try again. (4) we’ll see if an update fixes this issue.
