Test Driver Ratings & Comments

Acceleration commentsVery little driver involvement in accelerating this car quickly; with barely enough power to chirp its tires, there's little technique required.
Braking ratingAverage
Braking commentsSignificant pitch (nosedive) under heavy braking; soft, long-travel pedal isn't inspiring; noticeable fade.
Handling ratingAverage
Handling commentsSlalom: A textbook exercise in slowing down to go fast, the 2.4 Sonata won't tolerate overdriving or rapid inputs -- especially when transitioning through cones, it's simply soft with little damping and it shows with this SUV-like slalom speed. Skid pad: This car is SOFT and it shows around the pad. Grip is adequate but body roll is significant.
