Test Driver Ratings & Comments

Acceleration commentsNot enough power/torque to chirp the tires one bit; ergo, no torque steer and a very consistent, slow launch. Upshifts at redline and quarter-mile is done in 3rd gear.
Braking ratingAverage
Braking commentsVery consistent grouping of five stops with no fading evident, but hot-brake odor was. Pedal has some idle stroke, but goes medium-firm. Straight stops.
Handling ratingAverage
Handling commentsOn the skid pad, those little tires screech badly. There's a slight willingness to throttle steer, which is nice. Steering loads nicely despite being EPS. In the slalom, this Fit is apt to oversteer pretty dramatically in quick transitions. While that's entertaining for me, it'd likely catch a novice by surprise. Were it available, I'd suggest opting for electronic stability control. Better and/or stickier tires (like on the Fit Sport) would help a bunch here.
