2025 Genesis GV70 2.5T 4dr SUV AWD (2.5L 4cyl Turbo 8A)
We've never owned a luxury vehicle of any kind so we really wanted to treat ourselves with this purchase. Because this would be our most expensive vehicle purchase by far, we compared and tested many 5-seat luxury SUVs. All had some good points but the GV70 checked more boxes than any of the others.
We've now owned our 2025 2.5T Sport Prestige for close to a month and absolutely love … the performance, the drive quality, the quiet cabin, the excellent audio system and the luxurious appointments. We're in the Sierra Nevada foothills so we've taken several drives "up the hill" on winding mountain roads and 26% grades, in elevations from 2000 to 10,000 feet, and temperatures up to 110°. The GV70 has handled everything we've thrown at it with competence and poise. There have been no issues whatsoever - we've enjoyed every minute we've spent in the Genesis.
Are there any downsides? Well, the GV70 does feel rather heavy on tight mountain turns. A BMW X3 would handle the twisties with a little more balance, but at the expense of ride quality. An Audi Q5 would return better fuel mileage. A Lexus NX350 may be more reliable over time. But every one of these compact SUVs cost more than the GV70 Sport Prestige when comparably equipped, and they don't do as many things as well as the GV.
No car is perfect so the GV70 won't get 5 stars from me but 4.7 stars? ABSOLUTELY!
